Ted Kennedy slips in a "fast one"...

He has the GALL to call Iraq "Persident bush's Vietnam"?

I liked the statement I just heard from a security expert on FoxNews 1st edition..

When you're backed into a corner, you attack; this is what Kennedy and Kerry are doing. There is no comparison between Vietnam and Iraq; Vietnam was, essentially, a 'civil war', while Iraq was a hotbed of terrorists, a palpable threat to the entire Middle East run by a despot, and we were right in taking Saddam out.

Your views are appreciated...but remember, THIS thread is a "No-Spin Zone".

I think he may be painting with a broad brush for votes. Perhaps getting the younger uninformed voters to vote for Kerry. His thinking being that we are bogged down with more soldiers being killed every day. No exit strategy and such.

I can see how this $#|+ might seduce all the "young skulls full of mush" out there...but it saddens me that there are people MY age, who lived throgh RVN "in-country" and in CONUS, that buy this garbage as if it were a lost Gospel.

UGLY, this..especially coming from the brother of the President who put us IN RVN in the FIRST place! And, the "Chappaquiddick Kid" has SOME nerve demanding "responsibility"... :grrr:

There is a concern however that when control is turned over to the Iraqis on June 30th that civil war may ensue.

I think that the total amount of troops needed to gain control was seriously underestimated.

I disagree...surprise surprise. Correct amount of troops, not enough Iraqi involvement yet, but that is about to change as we deal with Fallujah.

Back to Kennedy....can we just combine this topic with the Barbra Sreisand topic so we can deal with both hypocrites at the same time?

I don't think that the Iraqi people are ready to deal with their own yet, especially with Fallujah and the Sunnis. I don't think that these potential problems were thought about enough.
