Well I TRIED to go to class but when the sky turned brown, decided to turn back around and head back to the house. Watching radar now trying to decide if I should venture out and try to get some pics or stay safe. Pouring wind driven rain here, estimate wind at about 25, gusting to maybe 35. Will keep ya'll updated as necessary. I know we've had about 5 or 6 tornado warnings for southwest of me. Worse yet, I live two blocks from a train track, so if one's coming, I won't know till I see it!

Have had one email alert about a tor watch in the area, but nothing else. It was awfully windy when I walked back in after lunch (about 10 mins ago). But no rain yet.

Susi - your signature line is very appropriate today. Welcome to twister season.
Ditto what tim said. Please stay safe everyone!

I'm right in one of the red blobs. Getting tons of thunder, but have seen very little lightning. Pond will be overflowing shortly, to my fishies delight!

Thanks! And thanks to Stephanie and Tim!
I'm still here for now. Probably will be for most of the afternoon since the hospital rarely has power outages. God forbid we have anything like Alison again.

Boring, Boring, Boring. A complete wash for me AGAIN. Only big woo I've had is just about constant thunder and rain for the past hour. Had a couple of wind gusts but even the silly BIRDS know ain't nothing happening. Good thing I fed my roses this morning. I let the rain water it in.

It appears to be weakening. The red blobs are turning orange.

Red alert down to orange now for Galveston?

It appears we all got through this without a problem, though I was wondering for a while watching the torrential rains coming down. Some rates in the area were up to 5"/hr. for a while so I expect we'll see some 3"+ totals in a few areas, especially to our SW where most of the really heavy stuff was. 5"-7" would not surprise me in some of the areas to our SW closer to the coast(Matagorda, etc.). Saw about the same as SuziQ on the wind side of things.

LOL! I just lost another umbrella to the wind. But that's okay. It was an oldie that was prepared to die after a brave fight in a blustery battle.
