Exile should not only be required for Saddam and his sons

but please get rid of Tariq Aziz as well. I actually fear him more than I do Saddam. This is a good first step, but tactically, I would not be surprised to hear Saddam accept this offer and make a token leave of Iraq, just to return a short time later (after a week or 2). By including Aziz, we would have been removing more of the regime; thus, preventing a puppet type Saddam loyalist government to remain in the event of exile
i am against exhile in any form

are they war criminals or aren't they? saddam and his sons in exhile can fund terror attacks in the future against the united states. this is a disaster.
saddam and his henchmen should be tried by iraqi courts. if he tries to leave by air, his plane should be shot down.
a-what does the president mean by "get out"
b-does this mean saddam gets immunity?
c-is bush making a secret deal to bribe a country to take saddam?
d-is saddam a war criminal or not?
e-if saddam is not a war criminal why are we fighting a war? bush sr decided on half measures in 1991. we have to finish the job this time. we can not leave saddam free to fund more terrorist attacks

He won't do it, though it might be the smart thing to do. It would be very interesting to see if France offers him asylum :o Then we'll just have to go back to the vineyards.

if bush allows saddam to go to france it would be a disaster. remember khoumeni? he was in exhile in france and he managed to get back to iran. i am certain france would not lift a finger to stop saddam from engaging in terror attacks.

Ideally, the Saddam & Family Road Show should be captured intact, including Aziz and all Ba'ath Party officials...getting the Ba'ath to TAKE a "ba'ath" might be difficult, but they should be at least disinfected before turning them over to some nameless court, in an unknown location for a secret trial with a foregone verdict...and a summary execution thereafter.
