I am still a computer kindergardener and am curious about what this task entails. For example, is equipment literally transported from site A to site B. My perception, possibly quite wrong, is that the internet is more of a transmittable source rather that somethign that has to physically be picked up somewhere and moved to somewhere else. thanks.

If you are moving a server, then yes, you are literally moving a box from site A to site B.
If you are just moving your site to a new server, such as to a new hosting company, then you are just moving your files, applications, and re-routing your DNS to a new box.

Thanks, sound like then WW** is going through the process you are describing in the first sentence and their notice now says will be down until at least the weekend.

Don't worry, you know how to fix that.

If you can get in touch with them, I would do whatever I can to speed that process up.

Got an e-mail which I do not fully understand stating that return time is contingent upon how fast former server provider can pack and ship hardware from Phillie to NC. Seems kinda odd that the company you essentially just "fired" would control time frame that you can return to being online.
