She's the strangest cat I've ever seen...
She's exceedingly intelligent, very alert...but she has horrible balance, constantly falls and misjumps(sometimes ramming into the wall, lol)...and makes it a habit to go to sleep in the MIDDLE of the floor. Aren't cats supposed to sleep in corners, on the fridge...anywhere that is strange and out of place, preferably high up?
Yeah, she does that too, but just as often as she goes to sleep on the kitchen floor.

And no, she isn't sick or anything like that...shes been this way her whole life and each vet comments on how healthy and alert she is.

But still...she's just bizarre. I've had over 10 cats in my life and never one like her...it's like she doesn't know what she is.
Her attitude is pure cat...but nothing else.
I've never seen a cat lose their balance and fall. She does it almost daily.

It's hilarious when I'm walking and she jumps to get out of my way...because just as often as not, she'll ram straight into whatever it is she's jumping for...or miss it altogether.

We also have to lock her out of the bedroom every night because everynight around 4am, she decides she wants everyone awake. And if she can get in the bedroom, she'll meow and meow until we wake up...and she does this from 4 am on. She doesn't ever stop until we get up...and then she stops right away and ignores us again. Needless to say, we have to keep her outside the room, lol.

Each cat has a unique personality. One of my cats (Butterball) is like you describe-- constantly falling, or misjumping-- but it's not because he's clumsy, it's because he's... well, fat.

Another of our cats (Trey) thinks he's a dog. He fetches, growls when somebody walks by outside, and always sleeps on his back.

My cat that I moved down here with (George) can't seem to hit a litter box to save his life.

We have what I would consider one normal cat (Gracie)-- a part-Siamese litter runt that always sleeps with my daughter.

Have you considered getting another cat? Maybe she's bored and lonely late at night. (That didn't sound too good!)

Aw!! As an animal lover and an owner of a few cats I must say that cats are not as stupid as some portray them to be. They each have their own personalities.

You're right, Linda, my wife and I have three cats and I would say they are smarter than our pound pup we have. Although he is dumber than most dogs, but we love him. For example, we have had this dog for a year and he still hasn't figured out that when the cats are scratching at the litter box, it doesn't mean the house is being overrun by squirrels. He runs around barking and looking for his main nemesis, which are by far squirrels. He hates them.

And each of our cats have a distinct personality. This is clear in how they deal with the dog: one seems completely disgusted, one seems to like him, and our newest cat absolutely loves the dog and follows him around.

I have a cat named Sparky, actually looks similar to Will's kitty. but one day I saw the cat on the mantle and there is a big mirror on the wall behind the mantle. The cat was sort of pawing at the mirror, then it moved one of the candles against the mirror with its paw. It seemed like it new that whatever moved on his side of the mirror would also move on the other side, I always heard that cats and dogs couldn't recognize themselves in a mirror. I am not sure if my cat did, but it certainly didn't seemed bothered by the cat on the other side, and my cat hisses up a storm at the site of another cat.

ROFLMBO @ the squirrels! I call my Pomeranian a "pound pup" too because that is the way she acts. lol.

My three are the same way with my Pom. One follows her around even though she tackles him to the ground he still goes back for more. One hates her and the other will play and play under his own terms. LOL!!

My cat likes to lay and sleep on his back too. He also picks up food with his paw and puts it in his mouth. All you have to do is say "Pick it up Ratt". He also knows how to give hugs and he will actually come running when you call him by name or say "Come Eat".
