Those living along Gulf Coast Listen Up

I talked to a very good friend who works out of the FBI office in Jackson, MS last night and he let drop some troubling news. There has been information that terrorist may be plotting to bomb a casino along the gulfcoast using a boat similar as the Cole bombing. They are considering closing the casinos on the Gulfcoast. I was planning a golf outing there on Thursday but I doubt I should go. What do you thing?

Okay...I made it up! What would you have done? Closed the casinos? Stayed home?

Well, since it's hard to golf on a casino boat, you wouldn't have had to worry about your own safety anyway.

And since I'm not a casino owner, I personally could close casinos, so that's not an option.

But as a tourist, would I go if I already had plans to go or would I stay home? I'd still go. Why not?

I'm still flying when I need to travel long distances and don't need my car. I'm still driving over the causeway to get to the mainland. I'm still riding the ferry to get to Bolivar Peninsula. I'm still living near a major port with large oil refineries. Those threats aren't making me change any plans or anything about my way of life.

It's just like the fact that I'm still living on a barrier island, even though there *could be* a hurricane landfall in the future. (Sorry, VBHoutex! :) )

I don't see any humor in this post!!! My heart was racing as I read your post, thinking this was a serious situation.

I agree, Bonnie! I have friends and family that work at those casino's! Maybe you could have told us you had made up that scenario before you told it. I'm not upset, but like Bonnie, my heart was racing.

I was trying to make a point about the claims made to Pres. Bush. I'm sorry you got upset but thats why I put the arrows adn the retraction. The post-9/11 world has made us more aware. I guess I just wanted to make everyone think like the Bush Admin had to think.
