Gas Prices----

SO YOU THINK A GALLON OF GAS IS HIGH,? ONE GALLON lets you travel 20 to 50 miles (depending on your vehicle)

DO YOU BUY ANY OF THE ITEMS LISTED ??

Make a comparison!
Sort of makes one think,
and puts things in perspective, doesn't it?

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ...........$10.32 per gallon

Lipton Iced Tea 16 oz $1.19 .......$9.52 per gallon

Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 ................ $10.17 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 ...........$10.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 ..............$33.60 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 .............$178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 .............$123.20 per gallon

Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 .....................$25.42 per gallon

Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 .....................$84.48 per gallon

THIS NEXT ONE IS A REAL KICKER......

Water is the most abundant resource ON EARTH!
Evian water 9 oz for $1.49 ......... $21.19 per gallon.

$21.19 FOR WATER! ....and the buyers don't even know the source. But then again Evian spelled backwards is naive.

So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, or heaven forbid, PEPTO BISMOL or NYQUIL!

***I'm not defending gas prices, I was just sent this and thought you all might enjoy it***

LOL  Thanks for putting things into perspective Bonnie. I wonder if the price for Nyquil inflates during the cold and flu season like gas does during the busy summer travel season? ;)

Good point Bonnie. It's nice to put a spin on things and think of it in a different light. Makes it more tolerant. For instance, in the past, I've been mad that I'm forced to contribute to social security, even though I will never recieve any benefits by the time I'm old enough. Someone on this board (rainstorm I think) said she thinks of it as her donation to the elderly and those who need it. Now that I have a new perspective on it, I'm happy about it. I feel like I'm helping. And now thanks to Bonnie for helping me think of gas prices in a new way. :)

trying to rememeber where I heard it...but I think the figures were $10/gallon IF gasoline prices HAD been adjusted for inflation over the last 80 years.

However...I'm not sure I buy that philosophy either since the cost of refining gasoline has obviously decreased proportionate to inflation with the improvement in oil drilling techniques (for instance the drill bit itself having been re-designed over the years to reduce drilling time, and allow deeper wells), oil refinement, delivery....all the processes associated with the end product.

This weasle talk is like telling us that we should be paying $10,000 dollars for the stereo reciever sitting in our house we purchase at Best Buy for $300. The prices for electronics have actually come down over the years because of design improvements, refinements, and mass marketing.

My point is EVERYTHING doesn't HAVE to follow inflation, so they can take that $10/gallon for gas and stick it!

Welcome to the wonderful world of California, Shannon. I have friends there that complain about the prices as well.

But you can make $2000 per week stuffing envelopes, and you'd save gas money since you could work at home.
