The Italian hostage killed by kidnappers in Iraq was a defiant "hero" in his final moments, Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini says.
The dead man was identified as Fabrizio Quattrocchi, 36, a security guard.
As the gunman's pistol was pointing at him the hostage "tried to take off his hood and shouted: 'now I'll show you how an Italian dies,'" he said.
This man was a hero and went down fighting. He deserves all of our respect for what he did and went through.

It counters beyond all debate that these cowards are anything other than cowards. They mask themselves and take unarmed civilians who are merely trying to bring some quality of life to their woebegotten country. It's kinda like beating up some guy's little sister because you cannot handle him.
