WOW! Whatta day, haven't been home too long, myself, along with Michelle and 2 others from our SAR Unit, were asked if we would participate in the parade (of sorts) leading the 1404th Transportation Company BACK HOME

Of course, we said "YES!" I had a lump in my throat the WHOLE time, seeing almost EVERY SINGLE person on the mountain (36,000+ residents) line the streets with banners, flags etc.....I've got some GREAT photos, I'll make an album tomorrow of the photos and post the link! We were dressed in our Dress Blues, what an HONOR THAT WAS! The NEATEST thing, a Apache Helicopter LEAD the troops into town, flying just above tree top level ahead of the 3 charter buses.......like I said, it was SUCH an honor bestowed upon us and our K9 Unit!

You are a true patriot Dennis, and the two of you are obviously known for your giving hearts and deep convictions. It does not surprise us at all that you would be asked to help lead their way back home.
Please give any of them that you know personally our thanks and gratitude. I'd look them in the eye and tell them thank you myself if I were there.

What an honor Dennis. As your troops come home, the Louisiana National Guard based here in Lafayette has just been called up. Godspeed to them all.

Congrats to you and Michelle; and to the others from your unit. That is a true reason to be proud. In fact, you two are a reason to be proud.

Keep up the awesome work.

Dennis, I look forward to those photos, hombre. Here in Happy Valley, a contingent came home to Bellefonte, Pa a few weeks ago. Quite a happy sight.

I also got chills and a bit teary eyed looking at the pics. They made me think of my cousins who were over there (and had some VERY close calls

) during their stay. Those pictures are a true display of patriotism and they make me PROUD to Be an American!
