Oh God, how terrible, I was praying that she would still some how be alive...

Its got to be terrible for her parents, losing your daughter.

Lord I dont even want to think about it.

But I pray that God takes care of her.

She was found 5 miles from Rodriguez's home, the convicted sex felon who was arrested for her kidnapping. He plead not guilty though.

There are some very sick people out there...I think that if that guy they got is the one that killed her then we should either hang him or fry him....he diserves it...sicko

How heartbreaking. Her poor parents must be devastated. What is wrong with people like that killer?

As sad as it is, it does put closure on this for the family....it allows them to move on without wondering where she is...or if she is alive.

What is wrong with people like that is that they have forfeitted their humanity and as such their life should soon follow suit. There will always be a gaggle of weepy eyes trying to explain how circumstances drove them to be the way they are, it is not the methodology that counts it is the results and the results of and for these not human predators is that they should go bye-bye. Killing is too good for them but it's the best option we got.

Her hometown of Pequot Lakes MN is just 12-15 miles north of where I live in Brainerd. Even down here in Brainerd, emotions are running high today; grief mixed with relief. I never knew Dru or her family, but I can almost feel a personal involvement in the situation. Back when Dru first disappeared, the Coca-Cola company where I work gave flyers to all of us who drive delivery trucks, and we distributed them to our customers. My route takes me to Camp Ripley, the local National Guard training post, and I remember troops being mobilized this past winter to search for her. It's a very emotional day.

That ravine was adjacent to Rodriguez' boyhood farm; it had been a "site of interest" (Rodriguez described the site as a favorite fishing spot, but later recanted that statement), and had been looked over at least twice before, but snow and bitter temperatures were prohibitive.

In the same vein, those temperatures may have actuallly helped the police; under such conditions, the body would have been in "cryostasis" (frozen), which is why her remains were so readily identifiable. More, evidence in and around the body will still be there for forensic examination...bad news for Rodriguez, if they find further proof of his involvement.

Most importantly, the discovery gives Dru's family, friends and colleagues at UND some sense of closure...and, I'd imagine, outrage to convict this perp to the maximum allowable, i.e. Federal death sentencing.
