Anybody else have this irritating cold. It started in my ear and then moved into my sinus. I have this nasal drip that makes me cough. It isn't debilitating...just very irritating...*sigh*

I suffer bad from hay fever, too, Johnathan...but can't recall ever getting a cold from an allergy episode.

I'm feeling better now, as far as my allergies are concerned, because the tree pollen had peaked and is now decreasing. A few weeks ago I was constantly sneezing from all the oak pollen.

A big thing now these weeks in NC is the awful yellow dusty pine pollen! Coats the cars, etc., and even my apartment front door is chalky with it ...what a mess!

Johnathan - hope you feel better! I used to take Allegra D, when we had reasonable Rx copays. Then it went to $50 copay! From $10! For this one drug. I said that's it, no more Allegra D for me (it works great by the way). Recently I found it at Kroger's, over the counter, but better than that, in generic Kroger brand. Once again, I can take Allegra plain or D. It has another benefit, it not only is non-drowsy, but it actually seems to give me energy. Something that's a plus when you feel rundown. You can get thru your day.

Just a medication suggestion. Until I was out of generic Claritin, I had no idea I could now buy Allegra over the counter! Sure helps with seasonal allergies and the annoying drip drip. Azskyman/Steve told me he takes it faithfully during allergy season and he feels great.

Sorry to hear about your cold/sinuses Johnathan. Hopefully it'll clear up soon.

It's here in FL too Eric. Both mine and chad's car have this yellow tint to them now, lol. Neither of us are big on getting out there and washing it off. It'll just be back tomorrow. (((big SIGH)))

Johnathan - I was mistaken, I take generic Claritin D. Not Allegra D (still need a script for it). Wanted the check on that for you in case you went looking at the pharmacy. But the generic Claritin D works great! Again, hope you feel better.

Here is some Information on the Generic Ingredients in Claritin-D. Just read the package and see if these ingredients are in the Over The Counter Pills

LORATADINE WITH PSEUDOEPHEDRINE 24 HOUR TABLET - ORAL (lor-AT-uh-deen WITH sue-doh-eff-ED-rin)

COMMON BRAND NAME(S): Claritin-D

USES: Loratadine is an antihistamine that provides relief from symptoms of seasonal and allergic rhinitis (e.g., hay fever) such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes and sneezing. Pseudoephedrine is a decongestant that relieves congestion, promotes sinus draining and improves breathing.

HOW TO USE: Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water. Do not chew or crush the tablet, as doing so will destroy the long action and may increase the side effects. Do not increase the dose or take this more frequently than prescribed.

SIDE EFFECTS: May cause difficulty in sleeping, dry mouth, mild stomach upset, headache, nervousness, dizziness, loss of appetite or thirst. These effects should subside as your body adjusts to the medication. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Loratadine does not usually cause drowsiness when used at recommended doses and under normal circumstances. However, be sure of the drug's effects before engaging in activities that require alertness. Notify your doctor if you develop: heart pounding, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, ringing in the ears, difficulty urinating. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
