Caution!

Not to scare anyone, but today is Tuesday 5-11-2004.

Why the call for caution?

Simple a few days before Tuesday 9-11-2001 the leader of the northern alliance was killed.A few days ago the president of Chechnya was killed.

What is the connection?

Like Afghanistan,Chechnya is home to many terriost groups. The value of Chechnya is in its lightly guarded nuclear missles and its porus biochemical labs.Unlike Afghanistan Russia has some control on the region and it would be a hard target if we could ever link the area with a terriost attack in the US.

The connection may be faint and the call for caution is based on circumstances, but I would suggest just be a little more aware of your surroundings and take note if you see something out of the ordinary.

Peace

Steve O.

Thanks Steve. This same conversation was brought up at work this morning. We all agreed it is worth being cautious about. Let us hope our Homeland Security are on top of things. :D

Thanks Steve for the reminder. Who was it that was murdered before 9/11?

Northern Alliance leader Gen. Ahmed Shah Masood was killed on 9/9 when two men disguised as reporters (with a bomb in the camera) came to interview him while stationed in the region north of Kabul. The US ground forces fighting in Afghanistan in October after 9/11 helped the Northern Alliance regain control of the area.

Interesting note... wasn't WWII "started" by the assasination of the Austrian Prime Minister or do I have my history facts mixed up?

Also of note, he was killed by a Serbian nationalist.

World War II supposedly began when Nazi Germany invaded Poland in '39, although the Japanese had invaded China in '37. Mussolini was in power in Italy and Hitler was defying most of the treaties froom the first World War. There are arguments as to what the true cause of WWII was, since so many countries were pulled in for different reasons.
