A War of Wills

Those who wish harm against the U.S.A. began a "war of wills" against its citizens when less than two dozen men crashed our own airplanes into our own buildings back on 9/11. From that day forward, there has been a war waged on our will to protect ourselves, to honor the foundation of this country, and to further the cause of freedom.
The "war of wills" is being waged by people who are finding ways to exploit our "better sense" and patience in a variety of ways.
Gas prices above $1.80 and heading ever-higher. Fear. Fear of the next attack on U.S. soil. Fear of losing our sons and daughters on foreign soil.
A very shaky economy. One that reacts cautiously to all good news, but reacts wildly to our fear.
Exploitation of our values. The real nature of war is being exposed. While we have the most sophisticated bombs that protect from collateral damage, this enemy is riding the crest of that growing wave of criticism on how our troops are interrogating and treating the POW's. They are playing on, and playing with, the conscience of a country.
These things are working for them right now. And working for other countries as well. And every time a small element of respect is removed, a new door opens for another terrorist group or terrorist country.
The realities of war are playing into the hands of the terrorists these days. And in doing so, they are whittling away at our will to do what is right. They have littered the view in ways that favor their plea for fairness.
And it is worrying me that we are listening and reacting exactly the way they had hoped.

It disturbs me also Steve-A LOT!!!
NOTHING can excuse what has been done to Iraqi POW's, but where is the OUTRAGE AT THE OTHER SIDE FOR DOING EVEN WORSE? WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE FROM OUR COUNTRY FOR WHAT THEY HAVE DONE AND ARE DOING TO OUR MEN AND WOMEN IN UNIFORM AND CIVILIAN WORKERS ALSO? WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE FROM OUR OWN CITIZENS AT THE TOTAL UNFAIRNESS OF OUR MEDIA IN REPORTING EVERYTHING ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON IN IRAQ AND ELSEWHERE, BOTH GOOD AND BAD???
We indeed are playing right into their hands when IMO we should be SPITTING IN THEIR FACES AND TELLING THEM TRY TO DO THAT AGAIN AND FACE THE CONSEQUENCES AND FOLLOW THROUGH TO THE MAX!!!!

It's hard to defeat a patient and deterimined enemy. It will take patient and determined leadership to prevail.

Steve, Ed, and all who read this...I HAVE to say it again....
"THEY willl not stop; neither can, or should, WE."
Whether it is clear to you or not, the fate of CIVILIZATION as we understand it is at stake...and if we fail, you might as well start teaching your children Arabic as a first language now.

are not civilized which is something we need to keep in mind. OTOH it does no good to lower ourselves to their level which is what happened in the prisons (from a practical standpoint, the public revelation of which now makes it that much harder for us to torture those who really deserve it). The bottom line though is simply this-at some time in the future it will become necessary for us to decide whether or not sacrificing One Billion people is necessary to prevent the remaining 6-7 billion or so from being plunged into a new Dark Age of Fear and Torture or if we decide to learn the ways of the Koran. At my age now, I'll be gone before it comes to that but my advice will be to Sacrifice Them it'll help with future overpopulation anyway.

Without ever saying it directly President Bush alluded to exactly what Steve said when he initiated the war on the COWARDS. IMO, we will reach that point and it will be sooner than later!!!! I'll be happy to hand deliver the MOAB that starts it all!!!!

Now, I believe that I should quantify my statement...so, here goes.
THINK...is it mere happenstance that...
(1) Islam is the exponentially fastest growing faith in Western countries?
(2) Wahhabi mosques, financed by Saudi Arabia, are springing up all over the United States and Europe?
(3) Prisons, storefront mosques and street imams, mostly Wahhabi, are collecting the poor, "oppressed" and otherwise angry segments of society all over the non-Muslim world, and giving them a "cause" to fight for, channeling that rage into action?
(4) In so doing, have we "allowed", through our own Constitutional freedoms, a vast "interior army" of Islamic militants to be recruited and indoctrinated, waiting for orders?
THINK.

The outrage is here, within all of us. It's just not being broadcasted. We all can do something. Write your congressman. Tell them how you feel. Let them feel the heat that isn't being displayed on television. Write the editors at your local paper. Be heard! They can't quiet us all!
