To those who are asking, WeatherSTAR is a kind of weather device for the Weather Channel installed at your cable company, this device is mainly used to retrive weather forecasts from your local National Weather Service, then view them on TWC in your area.
If you're using satellite, you won't see your local updates, instead, you'll see regional radars & forecast maps, and sometimes Travel forecasts.

I wish ours would update. We are still on the blue background with orange borders, whichever WeatherStar that one is.

How can you tell which version you are watching?

We get local updates on the 8's if that is what you are referring to that shows local radar. Otherwise I say what the heck is WeatherStar and how do you tell which one you have if your area has it?

WeatherStar 3000: Just a boring background with words on them.
WeatherStar 4000: Orange background with the blue box in the middle, Pictures added.
WeatherStar XL: Background with blue skies & clouds, animated slide titles, better graphics.
IntelliStar: Similar to XL, only it has voice-over on almost every slide. This is current on TWC.

I have Intellistar, and I like it. Thank goodness we still know that local is "on the 8's" If they ever change that, it will be very confusing to viewers who want that info.
Don't like the Weekly Planner as much as the old version though.
