Hi everyone. Coming home from my final today I was on I-44 when the heaviest rain I have ever seen started falling. Out of nowhere this wind gust came and blew me and the car in front of me off onto the shoulder!! Had I not been going only around 40 mph I would have probably have been blown off the shoulder and into the valley below. There have been several accidents on I-44 this afternoon. Heavy rain continues. Whew! I was so scared.

I think winds were only around 45 mph or so, but I wasn't prepared for it.

I've been in those situations. You go from one of anticipation to one of exhilaration to one of anxiety to one of fear....all in a matter of a few seconds.
You want to get in it, drive in it, watch it blow and howl, but once you are there you realize this is no ordinary storm...and then you want it to STOP!!!!
Glad you are ok.

Oh Garrett - stop it! LOL
Question - have you ever met Jim? He sure seems like such a nice guy. We were on vacation a few years ago in Destin. I could have sworn a dad near us looked just like Jim Cantore. I kept staring over that way, to the point that my kids said Mom stop staring.....when I tried to explain who I thought he was, you should have seen the rolled eye look I got. And heard the loud sighs. They were hoping he was a celeb....not a Met on TWC. Yes my family just loves this wx devotion thing I've got going. But later I did wonder if that was him! Could have been.

Jim Cantore is a genuine person and clearly could relate to most of us here because he knows what it is like to have a passion for weather.
Storm Stories, however, is created and produced by a totally different group of folks...and I doubt he personally would have much input into what story material is to be considered.
Nevertheless, Garrett, might be worth the try.
