They went too far making those jokes about a horrific act commited by the terrorists that beheaded Berg.

Well he deserved to be fired.. One for making fun, Two for even playing the thing. He should of known that was not a good move to just drop it in on his viewers like that. Wish they would of said what he said when joking about it.. But prob best for him that they didnt share it again!

I am glad they both were fired. This in NO way is a joking matter.

I can't believe that some fellow Americans are making jokes about a horrific act that was commited to another American however I know the constitution allows for free speech but they went too far doing the jokes.

Well it gets worse. Today some braindead teacher at SCHOOL showed the video to the KIDS! And surprise surprise, some of the kids were really bothered! Yes, no sh!t sherlock. Those poor kids! They're not prepared for stuff like that. Hell it's bad enough for adults. And at another school, another wacko teacher played the audio of the poor guy being mutilated. This is sick sick sick. And they wonder why kids have PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder)! These "teachers" ought to loose their teaching certificates. If they want to promote this type of butchery, they ought to become news reporters, not caretakers of our kids' psyches!!! :grr: :grr:

I actually believe that EVERY American should be REQUIRED to see that tape. No better reminder, especially to the hippie crowd, as to why we are fighting in Iraq and just how impoatant this war on terrorism really is

Without a doubt I understand what your saying Ortt.. Everyone knows to need to know what kind of "humans" were dealing with. But You cant just go playing stuff like that for kids unless you think its woth losing your job over.

I would NEVER EVER show my kids that tape! Some kids can't handle stuff like that. Let kids be kids.

Agreed. Some of us don't need to see tapes like these to be able to support the war. And I doubt that showing the tape to this supposed "hippies" would change their mind anyways. We all have opinions. Some people's opinions wouldn't change NO MATTER what you did or showed them.

True Garrett. Proof is when they interviewed one Iraqi man after the beheading. He said the Americans deserve it and if he ran across one or two he would do the same thing.

I agree -- some discretion should be used when/if showing this to youngsters. After 9/11, there were children who saw the news footage of the planes hitting the towers being played over and over again. Some didn't understand that those were replays of the same event. They thought we were being attacked again and again and again.

i agree with derek. i am sick and tired of the 5th column media stabbing our military in the back with 24/7 coverage of pics that arent even that bad. its odd to me that they wont show vidoe that might cause someone not to like the terrorists

Kids are not dumb either Helen. But allowing them to watch a gruesome video is a bit much.

It has nothing to do with not liking a terrorist. A little bit of common sense mixed with child psychology is all you need here to understand.

I would not even watch it.

I am not a fan of gore etc it sickens me.

and thats the problem. terrorists understand that they can butcher people and video it, and it wont be used against them.

Being an old "hippie" from the 60's I am curious where your generalization of a group called "hippies" is coming from. I will stop there for now, but suffice it to say I have problems with generalizations such as that.

Thank you vbhoutex, for questioning the "Hippie" comment! Coming from the same generation as you.....and also considering myself just an old Hippie.....I wondered EXACTLY what that comment meant!

While I have not had any desire at all to view this horrendous tape, in no way do I feel I am not aware of its gruesome message. I disagree with those who feel it should be "required viewing" to all Americans; to what purpose would that serve?? Do some think that the ONLY way to realize the extent of this brutal behavior is to observe it?? 'Tis a sad fact that many here in our country have already been de-sensitized to horrific behavior by absorbing what the media often displays in movies, songs, some TV shows.......p
