Bus driver scuffles with teen
MILWAUKEE, Tenn. (Court TV) - As a rule, school bus drivers should act more mature than their passengers.
But, last week, a Milwaukee bus driver was charged with child abuse after she fought an 11-year-old girl over an insult, according to the Milwaukee Sentinel.
Suzette Washington, 33, a driver for the Laidlaw Transit bus company, overheard a student complaining about another bus driver to a friend. She asked the girl about the comment.
The girl allegedly responded, "Stupid bus drivers."
Washington ordered the girl off the bus and called her a "heifer."
The girl called Washington a "b**ch," and the driver retorted by calling the girl and her mother a "b**ch."
The verbal altercation, unfortunately, turned physical.
Washington reportedly grabbed the 11-year-old and punched her, scratched her and broke her glasses. A school official got on the bus and pulled the driver off the girl.
Washington faces 3 ½ years in prison if convicted. She has been suspended from her job.
