Rats jumping ship in Iraq!

Officers in the field and major Iraqi "players" have been observed packing up and leaving Baghdad, or the Iraqi troops in the field...possibly to exile in Syria (if we don't cut off their line of retreat first). Of the tens of thousands of surrendering military, few are officers; either the soldiers were abandoned by them, or the soldiers "fragged" them (as those near Basra) before surrendering to coalition forces.
A Ba'ath partisan "government-in-exile" out of Damascus could prove a serious thorn in the rebuilding of Iraq. Also of note is that the people in Iraq have LONG memories for names and tribal identities; those who killed, abused and tortured their loved ones (Revolutionary Guard, "Golden" Division or Iraqi security force members) are NOT going to stick around for a free Iraq, for fear of reprisal killings.
Also of note at this writing, only two Revolutionary Guard divisions, "Hammurabi" and "Nebuchadnezzar", are still standing between the oncoming forces and Baghdad...this gets more interesting by the minute!
