Bonnie - I want him to get the maximum sentence too. But like you, I fear he'll get off like OJ did. Scott Peterson is scum. All he had to do was say to Laci - you know, I just don't think I'm cut out for marriage and parenthood. And he should have just walked out. She had a wonderful support system - a loving family. Laci would have survived and her sweet baby too. I firmly believe Scott felt trapped, they argued, and something tragic happened. From there he has avoided the real issue - he possibly accidentally caused her death. He still did it though and then covered it all up.
Tragic story. I blamed Scott from the get go. Will probably always do so, unless someone comes forward and confesses.

I think he's guilty but the problem is that most of the case against him in circumstantial (sp) evidence. Hopefully justice will be served.

That's the whole problem---tons of circumstantial evidence against Scott but no scene of crime, no determination on how she was killed, no murder weapon. I feel he definitely killed her but I believe they cannot prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt---so he will probably walk!!!
I wish Mark Geragos would not have taken this case. He was so against Scott before being hired by his family. Very smart lawyer indeed. Sorta like the "Dream Team".

I have been watching it. The defense is going to have a hard time proving his reasons for heading to the Mexican border. If they can't convince the jury of that he is toast!

Havnt heard the evidence; however, he is guilty of adultery. Not sure if this is a crime in California yet or not (knowing the anti-Christian state of Californina, it likely is not), he should have been charged with that as well, so they would at least have got him on something, which he deserves to be convicted of that, if nothing else

I know in GA you can file charges against your spouse for adultery. And you can also sue them for it too.

He had to have done it, he had the motive and the opportunity.. it was a very well thought out, planned and premeditated murder.

Now just how is California an anti-Christian state?

Along with their court ruling the pledge unconstitutional, they allow for baby killing and many other things that are in direct contrast to the bible.

Off-topic thread going off-topic alert!!!
I think that Scott is guilty as well.
As a side note, funny how we call California a non-Christian state yet we ourselves are judging Scott before a fair trial. I am "guilty" of that too, I just thought it was ironic.

Oh, of course, how silly of me to not realize that the court speaks for every citizen and, therefore, all of them must be non-Christian.
As for baby killing, he's been charged with that also.

Well Duckie, regardless the courts are speaking for every citizen in the state of California with their stupid left wing rulings. The people of California vote those judges in.

Speaking of his adultery, he definitely traded down with that Amber woman. Poor thing is pitiful looking, but he couldn't seem to leave her alone. She has had another out of wedlock child lately, too, supposedly with another married man. She needs serious counseling. As for Scott, he had a pretty wife and did a horrible thing to her and his son. A son is usually so important to a man; I can't see how he could have killed him, too. He is so guilty!!!

As much as I detest Scott Peterson and his attitude, he does deserve a fair trial. Somewhere along the way I expect him and his lawyers to run up against an obstacle he didn't expect....and then, for the first time, you'll be able to read the truth through his body language. It could happen when they show the condition of the bodies as they found them. I can't imagine even the most determined person could be unaffected by those images.
On a different note...I still believe there will be a tragic turn of events for Michael Jackson this year too. This guy is a fragile fragile person who has built Neverland around a life that has been anything but real since he was a child.

His demeanor tells me that he's guilty.
Linda, those flaky judges in the federal courts are nominated by the pres. (I think) and confirmed by the senate. In some states judges are elected, but that's only for the state courts. I don't think that there's many notorious cases of state judges creating laws like the federal judges do. In the recent case about the partial birth abortion ban it was a federal judge that made the ruling.
