Lillian Martin, 77, and Joshua Bryant, 10, vanished in May 2001 from their home in Deltona. Part of their home was apparently ransacked, but nothing appeared to be missing, police said.

Police announced the discovery Monday of the skeletal remains of Joshua Bryant.

Body Of Joshua Bryant Discovered
Bryant, 10, disappeared along with his grandmother, Lillian Martin, 77, from their home in the Deltona area in May 2001, WESH NewsChannel 2 reported.

Volusia County Sheriff Ben Johnson made the announcement at a news conference. Johnson said Bryant's remains were found in a wooded area in Cassadaga. There is no sign of Martin's remains, but a search continues.

The family of Bryant and Martin were notified of the discovery. Johnson said the prime suspect in the case, Douglas McClymont, did some electrical work at the family's Deltona home. McClymont was recently accused in a triple murder after a multi-state crime spree that left a Lake Helen man and a North Carolina couple dead.

He shot himself during the crime spree and later died at a hospital.

Oh Wow! Those poor people. At least the guy who killed them is dead, so the taxpayer's money won't be wasted on a trial and keeping him in prison.

I'm very sad about this. I had always hoped that the grandmother and the young boy had fled to start a new life somewhere. I just can't believe it. I didn't know them personally, but they lived in the same town as me. This was a huge mystery to all of us. To this very day, there are still posters of both of them all over our town and surrounding area. May peace be with them.
