My new ROCKY "Fort Hood" boots arrived!!!
They are WELL-padded, comfortable enough to wear right out of the box (as I am doing), but still have enough room for a two-sock system if I want one when the "wind is a'blowin', and the snow is outrageous"...
The only
caveat is that the manufacturer recommends NO wax or paste, but its own brand of silicone spray to keep the boot waterproof.
"NANNERBELLE...you HO'...wanna go 'SIDE now?"

"KEWL BEANS!" AH.....don't KNOW about the part "in order to keep them waterproof, use ONLY OUR brand!" *rolls eyes*.....personally, I use Saddle Soap and Snow Seal on mine AND to TOP off the gloss, I use the NEW "Kiwi Parade Polish!" Talk about a SPIT SHINE!!!!!!

BTW....so did mine, I got a NEW 65° angle SAND WEDGE, "NO...not a SAND WEDGIE!"

AND a round of GOLF at "Temple Hill" in Snowflake. I played that course last week, felt like I was golfing at the "Great Temple in Salt Lake City!"

Cool about the boots Bill.

Off topic, but how are you liking your high speed connection?

Bill - I remember you posting you were waiting for these boots on my weak ankles topic. I'll be in the market for really good hiking boots myself. Just as soon as this ankle finally heals. Brace comes off next week. I'll be wearing them probably in the heat of the summer. Do you think they'll really help you Bill? I'm walking carefully these days. LOL Very carefully!

LOL, Pburgh! Coppertop has that very same pair (now beaten up beyond recognition), and is happy with them; besides, his feet are 1/2 size bigger than mine, and he's still growing!
Mary, I noticed the difference after eating out with the family, taking out Annabelle (she be a ho') and walking around the house. When I took them off to go upstairs, I could FEEL the "missing" support in my ankles.

There are several hiking/light athletic boots available...PM me if you want to know where to get them, as I have ALL the catalogs!)
Dennis, I'm not sure about using THEIR brand, but I will follow advice about getting a leather silicone spray; my days of HAVING to "spit-shine" are long gone, but I do want the weatherproof feature to last (quoting here..."Using pastes or waxes is not recommended since it will change the appearance of the footwear and may clog the pores hindering breathability").
The "warp-drive" will be installed tomorrow afternoon between 1-3 pm CDT...still waiting.

"LOL!" I just flashed back to that "fateful" day, when Kevin wore those boots.....all I can say is "WHOOOOA...I'm surprised he's still able to WALK!" LOL!
Now...the NEW Kiwi Brand Parade polish is made up of with a large amount of Silicon...I swear by this product, I use it on my new Magnum's

Bill - that's saying something. These must be really good boots! I will be asking you soon about them. But here's the thing - you guys can pull off wearing boots with jeans, probably all year long. How can I pull that off? LOL Yeah boots would look great with summer capri's. But I will try wearing boots as much as I can. I keep thinking I'll find a simple plastic or stiff material insert, shaped like a U, that can go under my heel, sox and then I can wear regular shoes. This brace I'm still wearing is very bulky. Can't imagine wearing it much on a regular basis, although the doc said people do all the time! To me it looks like something you need after a sprain, not to wear for preventative measures. I took the dog on a walk, on concrete around a school close by. It was tricky. There's a nice civic center you can get to thru woods, all nicely mulched with bridges. We usually do that. Not this time I said to her. No way! It was a short walk, Hope got shortchanged. Man, we walked everyday and very fast too! Still walking slow. I'm beginning to think now I should be on the treadmill before taking on her daily walks? Start out very slow and build up gradually to where I used to be.

Only you, Miss Mary, know the speed at which you will be progressing; talk to your MD about it, too.
There are inserts (orthotic) which can be had (they send you a couple of boxes; you stand in each, send them back, and the inserts are made specifically for YOUR feet) which might help.
See your PM...

I'm so glad that they are making such a difference for you Bill!
Miss Mary - don't they make high-top sneakers still? They would give your ankles alittle more support.
