3 Doors Down Bassist Holds Rock Talent Search
A six state search is underway for talented rock musicians who want an opportunity to shine in the big-time. A local guy, who gained worldwide recognition with his band, Three Doors Down, wants other performers to have the same opportunities he did.
Todd Harrell, the band's bass player, is starting his own label called "Imprint Records." His label is holding a rock talent search in the 6 Southeastern states, and the final 11 bands will compete for a recording contract with the new label.
"I just want to be the stepping stone," Harrell says.
"Imprint Records" will help the winning band produce the record, and get them distribution throughout the Southeast. Harrell says the band will also go on tour.
The competition will take place in Gulfport in August. Some of rock's biggest labels and accomplished producers will be at the rock contest to serve as judges.
If you're interested in entering the contest, send a copy of your band's music to Biloxi radio station, WCPR.
The winners from each state will compete in the finals at the Gulfport Grand August 13th and 14th. Tickets go on sale, July 1st.
