I went to the morning church service at my church today. I took a peek inside the weekly flyer and the church is looking for a secretary.

If I want to apply.. all I'd need is a resume and to fill an application out.

I don't know whether to try to apply or not because I'm willing to bet that since I'm not a female.. I'd have less chance of earning the job.

I'll talk to my pastor again tonight to see if he knows anything about the job.

Also.. I got yet another confirmation that the church will help me with my rent which is due Thursday but not considered late till Monday I believe..

What matters is a person's ability to do the job. Gender should not matter even though most secretaries are females, but then again it was once thought that males could not be nurses. There are a ton of male nurses out there.

Keep us posted John. I am sure gender isn't as big of a factor as you are guessing.

As everyone thought..Gender is not an issue lol.. My pastor said that If I'd wish to apply.. All I need to do is type up a resume and then go to the church and apply..

Good luck...as for the rent, I think it's cause of the 4th of July holiday next weekend...because banks would normally have been closed Sunday, they all will likely be closed either Friday or Monday...

Good luck John. Everyone is right - it would be discrimination if they didn't hire you because you are a male. They should take all of the resumes and determine who's the most qualified. It sounds like an ideal one for you.

I was a receptionist and I am a male. So it can happen. Try it, you never know unless you give it a shot!

Thank you Stephanie and Josh.. Now if only I could get my stupid comp. to print out my resume lol.. My computer has not been the same since I was allowed back up here post fire.. lol
