Please pray (my parents)

I got a text mesage from my mom this morning. My fathers pick up was stolen out of the parking lot at the factory where he works :grr: :grr: My parents have no insurance, and it took them over a year to finally get transportation (why anyone would steal that car is beyond me)! This is now the 5th car that has been stolen from our family!!!! No one can really afford insurance anymore because of the amount of stolen cars...(This is back home in South Africa)

Please pray my parents can get through this situation. They have been through so much in the last 5 years it is amazing they are still sane. My folks lost there home 5 years ago, and along with that everything they owned. They have been unable to get work because of there age, and believe it or not when my father finally did get a job, he was not allowed to be promoted, because of the color of his skin.... My poor mom is just falling apart right now because there is no way my Dad can get to work without a car. Please pray that the Lord would undertake for them in this situation. I pray I never have to see my parents in the situation they have been in before, they have lived out of there car, and even in a barn on a farm. I have had to send them food because they had not eaten in days.... I just hope and pray my Dad can keep this job and find some transport. I dont think my Mom can take much more!

Sorry to dump on you guys... but it breaks my heart knowing that I am a million miles away and can not do anything to help them!

Oh Bron, what a helpless place you are in right now. I know how you must want to be right there to help them out and give them comfort.

Prayers are definitely coming from the Burgh for you and your family.

((((HUGS))))

My prayers go out to your parents :( ...and a stinging "what is wrong with this picture" goes to our INS for refusing South Africans immigration status. :grrr:

Shannon, the odds of that happening are 100 to 1. There are so many chop shops in SA. It takes them about 15mins to file off the engine number, change licence plates and give the car a rough spray job. Besides the south african police force is so corupt, unless you have connections or a whole load of money to bribe with, you can kiss your car good bye!

yup Bill... You tell em

Well, Amazing...you and your family ARE suffering through political and "racial" persecution...if it isn't the heavily-armed roving black gangs, it's the Government; and if not those, it's the underground Afrikaans ex-secret police "Broederbond".

Someone in the State Department needs to wake up...and I am sending my $5.99 worth to Colin Powell, with a duplicate to the INS this weekend.

In sum, Bronwyn..I have HAD IT. :grrr:

And I urge everyone else on this Board to do the same thing...PLEASE. :larrow:

Bill, perhaps a little more direction as to exactly shat we might need to do/say and to whom for sure, including addresses, internet or otherwise would be in order, if you have them handy. EXCELLENT IDEA!!!
