This is a prayer request.. It's not really a serious 1.. but the same time it is lol..

Nicole and I are "supposed to be" hanging out tomorrow. I wouldn't exactly call it a date.. But at the same time I would.

Just a simple asking for prayers that she doesn't stand me up... or that we have a fun time and enjoy each others companies.. She does have my phone number and she promised she'd find a way to call me so if she stands me up.. I'll be po'd lol

John, pal, bud, amigo...lol , I had this same concern with my NOW friend Emily (care to read into that go to the last few pages of the "Prayer Request Thread"), that she would stand me up. She never did; actually, she was mad at herself for not getting into contact with me since she was so busy.

Nicole, does she have busy life, i.e., school, job, POTENTIALLY (as in Emily's case) a young child to take care of? If so, give it some time. It is possible she just got so busy (that is what Emily told me) that she forgot about her social life slightly. You know what I am saying? Sometimes people get so busy they forget that there should be time for relaxation!

I don't think she will stand you up!

I think you know this already, but I learned that when someone stands you up they don't contact you, period. A couple times, Emily and I had something planned, and then a last minute (or hour) thing came up. She simply called me to post-pone to a latter date. Things happen.

The only way Nicole could be really "busy" is with her new job.. but she doesn't start till Monday...

She doesn't have any children.. and she's been out of school for a little over a year..

BTW, what makes you think she will stand you up?


(I know, I have had a bunch of "what if..." fears in my life not limited to relationships. I know what is going on in your mind.)

Brian.. the only fear is because I have had girls stand me up more than 1 time before.. Otherwise.. I'd be fine..

My rule of thumb: Think positive but don't be over-confident. The higher you are up, the more far you have to drop. If you realize that yes, it could happen that she could stand you up, and then she actually does (unlikely, IMHO ), you will not be as upset.

Nicole said it would be anytime after 11 today.. so with it being 11:30.. the long day of waiting begins lol..

My dad has always said that girls will always surprise you.

This past February, Emily promised to get ahold of me to do something. I was a little apprehensive about this, so I was optimistically cautious.

The thing was she was going to call late at night (a late date at her house), so that meant a long day and evening of waiting.

Just before my dad went to school for the evening, he noticed that I was a little apprehensive; he told me "girls like to surprise."

Well, guess what? After I called it a night about 1030pm, laid in bed for about 5 minutes, here goes the telephone and my brother marching downstairs saying it was for me! It was Emily, and I wound up hanging out with her until 2am the next morning!

Cool beans Brian.. Apprehension is alive and well here.. No phone calls yet.. I'm even scared to leave the apt. because since Nicole's phone is supposedly not working.. that means she said she'd call when she got over to this side of town lol..

I'm refusing to let it drive me crazy though.. Assuming she takes the bus over here.. She doesn't have to catch the last bus back home till around 7:30-8 {unless she borrows her brothers car or what not}

So I am very much hoping she calls.. even if she has to cancel.. she better call and make me aware of it

John, no offense...but she sounds pretty cheap in personality if she does this to her friends.

She may indeed be that way.. {cheap}.. I don't know why she hasn't called.. I know her cell isn't working currently.. but she could have at least taken 50 cents and gone to a pay phone and called lol..

I don't know what happened.. I actually doubt she's with that candy man because he's not all there lol..

Anyway.. If a miracle phone call comes.. or if I get any new info.. it'll be passed
