Thier has to be more into this. Really doesnt make much sense to me why a guy at his age would do this. Guess i along with everyone else will have to wait for that answer.

If anyone has seen a bio of Ricky they say money is nowhere near the top of his list, and that he totally distains fame. He has always seemed like he was on a different wave length than most people so when I think about it this isn't totally a shock like say if a a C. Portis did it.. Either way this KILLS the Dolphins with no proven QB, could be a LONG YEAR.

I am not saying I sympathize.. but if he lost his passion to play.. then God Bless Him.. Travis Minor the backup will probably take over as starter..

Now if only Fiedler or Feeley won't throw any picks lol..

The Phins may actually start 0-2.. They have to play Tennessee and Cincy the 1st 2 weeks

Ricky Williams could be forced to give back to the Miami Dolphins more than $8 million already paid to him because he retired before the expiration of his contract.

Because of penalty clauses included when Williams' contract was reworked two years ago, the team could try to recoup $5.3 million in incentive money, said sources familiar with the terms. The Dolphins also could seek $3.3 million of the $8.8 million signing bonus Williams received when he joined the New Orleans Saints in 1999, the sources told The Associated Press.

The Dolphins said they've made no decision about whether to pursue the matter. Williams' contract expires in 2006.

"The contract is not an issue," General Manager Rick Spielman said. "The contract will eventually take care of itself. The focus has been on moving forward without Ricky and getting ready for training camp."

Good for Miami

Here's an answer:

He'd rather do drugs than play football.
