thank God for the notes! Glad no one was hurt. I think that the perp is trying to play cat and mouse with the detective.

This story just sickened me when I read it. If I had a baby right now I think I'd be tempted to make my own baby food.

Bron, when my nieces were little, my sister-in-law made all of their baby food. She bought a baby food grinder that attached itself to the table, either at home or in a restaurant. She'd order food they could eat but grind it up. Or fix more for her and my brother at home and then grind it up. My nieces would eat it on the spot. In other words she didn't can it. I'm sure these grinders are available still. This was way back in the late 70s and early 80s! Eons ago. I think they were on a tight budget and just got in the habit of making their food.

Ricin simply does not end up in baby food (ANY food, for that matter) by accident. When they find this idiots, I sure hope they recieve some sort of terrorism charge. :X

When I first heard that Ricin came from the Castor Oil plant, I was quite surprised because that plant grows plentifully in the wild in many parts of Barbados.

In fact, it was a custom of my parents' generation to take a dose (or perhaps more correctly, have a dose forced down their throats by their parents and grandparents) of castor oil to "purge" them before starting a new school semester!

Shark oil was also a favourite tonic in those "good old days"...YUCK!

I just read this story on yahoo: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=s ... ricin_dc_7 It appears both babies ate the food! The parents found the note sometime during the feeding. Thank our Good Lord above that both these babies are fine. The person guilty of this needs to face execution, I'm dead serious. Nothing infuriates me more than someone who would hurt an innocent baby or child.
