I remember Raine from way back on the weather.com boards but haven't heard anything about her in quite a while. In fact I don't remember much about her at all, but I remember the name. I searched for her posts and see that she has made a few this year, about one a month or so. I was just wondering if someone could sort of refresh my memory on who she is and why she hasn't posted much in a while. Thanks!

Raine....my BEST bud in the world is now back to work as a uhhhh.....I *think* she's an airline attendant now, PLEASE, correct me if I'm wrong (seems I've been WRONG a lot here lately). Jackie AKA Raine, is one of the SWEETEST, DEAREST, OPEN, TELL IT LIKE IT IS woman that I've ever had the honor to chat with on the phone and in chat!

Raine (Jackie) from what I heard one time is also a paramedic (volunteer?)...she may have left that post to enter the airlines industry as Dennis mentioned. She and her husband Tom have I believe...3 kids...2 girls and a boy...their son Dakota is a miracle...a while back (he was born w/ a lower extremeties problem)...anyway he almost died but the Lord brought him and his parents through an ordeal.

BTW....she's been hangin' over at TWC a *little* bit, I posted a reply in a thread over there asking how she was doing........she's O'TAY, just busier than all get out, as are most of us these days!

I miss her as well, but I remember that she was going to go back to work for the airline. I can't imagine that she has time for anything!

Ditto on missing Jackie - I do too. I emailed her awhile back and she replied on Cyclone's Hello thread maybe? I'd need to check. It may have been the porch topic. Anyway, Dennis is correct - she is very busy. If my memory serves correctly Jackie was working as a flight reservationist for Delta. Working odd hours, third shift maybe. Then very busy with her 3 children - heck, I have two and they keep me busy. I don't even work at the present time! So I think when Jackie took this job something had to go and it was probably the computer time she once enjoyed so much. Hate to say it but if I were working again, I know my time would be greatly reduced here. Lisa/Angelheart is in this situation now. So many of us were/are stay at home mom's. Because of that wonderful schedule we had time to form some very special online friendships, many started in TWC chat room. But one by one, they/we all get busy. Keirs is another one - busy/busy but if truth be told, I think raine/angelheart/keirstein think of us all from time to time. And with my oldest starting college in 2005, yikes, I need to at least consider working part time. Being very spoiled at being home 17 years now, I don't know how I'm going to handle that (our home isn't the most organized and "mom" is relied upon for lots of chores, that would have to change and in the tradition of Scarlett O'Hara, I'll just think of that another day!).

The last time she posted at the other place was on the 4th of July. She said she had been accepted into flight attendant training program with comair. She will be leaving for training in October and sit reserve in Cincy for six months.

Mary, it sounds like she'll be in your neck of the woods soon.

She is such a blessing to all that she meets. I miss her too.

Karan - I missed that somehow. I should look her up! Our airport though is technically in Northern KY, not Cincinnati. But we call it the Greater Cincinnati Airport, or CVG (you'll hear that on TWC a lot when they mention airport delays). Delta has a huge hub over there - huge! Keep us posted Karan and Steve, if you hear from her.

I forgot I posted this thread for a few days. Thanks for all the responses. Have you heard back from her yet Dennis? Please let me know if you do. And should Jackie find this thread...I was weatherman33 back at weather.com, as you probably won't recognize this name.

I remember angelheart and Keirstein too. It's sad when people leave and you don't get to talk to them for a while if ever again, but I guess that's just the way it will be with internet friends.

MW, I know what you mean. Kinda wonder what happens to people you meet on wonderful sites like this. I'm sure if Raine/Jacki doesn't respond to this and emails, several of us will track her down!!!!! I know I have her phone number somewhere and will call her and tell her she's being missed. It's great that you're such a caring person. ((Hugs)) to you my friend.

Got a brief note from her a couple days ago...so she is responding. Her note said she had lost a "bigger note" in the computer and didn't have time to reconstruct it right then. So at least she is responding...and knows we are asking about her.

I rarely come here so I keep forgetting about this thread...any responses from her yet? Just wondering. And thanks for the kind words Karan.

Haven't heard from her but as I pointed out and someone else confirmed it, she's busy working now for Delta. And has 3 children home all summer. I imagine she has little time for the computer these days. However I know raine thinks of us from time to time. She knows we miss her. Just like we miss Tracy and Angel. Or even Jan130. Remember her from Chat days? She was so nice and her son Justin - jmt - joined the chat room too. She never posted on the boards to the best of my knowledge. I used to have her email addy but lost it. I think back to those days and miss these dear friends but realize situations change, people change, you just get busier. I know my neighbors must think I no longer live here - I used to be really into my yard, planting at least 10 flats a summer (window boxes, pots, bedded areas). I was also walking babies in strollers then and watching my young children ride their bikes. Now I'm a taxi service! In and out, all day long. Home for 2 hours, gone for 1. My kids are teens and teens just have a schedule all their own, unlike any other time in a mom's parenting phases. My time is so cut up, I imagine Jackie's schedule is like that now. Add working part-time overnight for Delta, and well, no wonder we rarely hear from her! She's probably worn out.

PS - I have thought of Jackie in the past few weeks. Lots of local articles in papers about Delta's financial woes. The company is doing everything possible to avoid bankruptcy. I wondered how her job was holding up each time I'd read another article. Delta asked pilots to take something like a 31% pay cut. Many local pilots said a severe cut like that would hurt them financially. They have bills like the rest of us. Never heard if the pay cut went into effect or not. Here's one article I could dig up:

Kevin - Tracy is TLC. She probably didn't post as much as Angelheart did at TWC. I thought for sure you went back to the chat days? Guess not!!! You know me and my fine memory skills..... You must have just missed it though. Because I remember everyone posting on the boards there, you included, and it was 'almost' as good as chat was.

Kevin, maybe the more you make these sort of visits here, you will care for this board along with the others you frequent.

There are after all a lot of people you met from weather.com here and this site has grown tremendously in the last few months; especially the last week.

Tom - thanks for saying that. I love it here Kevin! More than TWC boards, I can say for certain. This place has the chat room feel of former days. Maybe you can give us another try? Lurk for a while if necessary. And perhaps in time you'll come to like it here as much as I do. I should add also that we have many members near your age Kevin.

Kevin and I are a lot of like. We even don't even seem to get along together well at another weather site; but
we both post there. I haven't been posting there lately because I can't find another to say in the latest topics.

As for those around his age being part of this site (and many joining in recent days)... I am almost sure Kevin
has looked over the stats I've compiled over the last several months/for about the last year... has he has known
my interest in doing them.

It is good to interact with older individuals interested in meteorology such as Raine, too.
