I have to agree with Led here.....The boss is a has been. (Although I never liked his garage band style to begin with)

Eh, he's one of several dozen stars who supports that group. If he wants to do it as part of the "movement" just like some celebs support PETA and some support GWB, fine IMO. Anyone who buys tickets or attends one of those events KNOWS what they're going to be exposed to. It's when they throw that crap out during a concert in a regular tour (like the Dixie Chicks or Linda Ronstadt) that bugs me.

I've seen Bruce twice ("Tunnel Of Love" tour -- good, Bridge School Benefit Concert with a slew of other artists doing their work in acoustic-style -- boring). But he never once said anything boldly political, although he had a few small monologues before certain songs. Same for Amy Grant, Billy Joel, Garth Brooks, and a handful of other artists that I've seen in concert.

I don't think we can tell them to stop anymore than we can tell JAG star Karri Turner and http://www.starsforstripes.com/ to stop their cause. I may not support all the causes these guys are for, but I suppose, to be fair, they have the right to support certain causes that they feel passionate about, as long as they don't push it on fans. There's a fine line, but when they try to mix acceptance speeches or regular tour performances with political views, it's just not very entertaining...and that's what they are first and foremost -- entertainers. So, if they are at a function as a "supporter" and everyone attending knows what the event is all about, I say let them have their say.

After all, if I ever sell a script (not that I'd be a famous celeb because screenwriters are rarely ever the ones in the limelight), do I want people telling me I can't support our troops or our President or that I can't speak out against something at a rally or convention? No.
