Well guys while the war against the saddam regime by the coalition is going on there is another war going on in the media and this is turning ugly first with Peter Arnett being booted by NBC and now the Geraldo incident that he now denies he was booted from Iraq.
By the way Geraldo is from my countrie Puerto Rico but he has not been here for years as he went to the states many years ago.

Well I saw him last night ( daytime Iraq) of him drawing in the sand. Then I saw him this morning ( night Iraq) interviewing a soldier while tanks were moving out in the background. But yet he was booted last night. Hmmm
I hope Iraq does not boot Arnett. We should use him as a potential target.

Arnett as a representative of the coalition press cannot afford to make political statements that can be misconstrued as 'official' to the enemy (Iraqi) media. His boot was justified in my opinion. He was also picked up this evening by the Mirror, so he's back in the saddle so to speak.
Geraldo - please, we were talking of the 'professional' press, right?- he was booted by CENCOM - Central Command, the military themselves, for not only using bad judgement, or should I say, NO judgement - but he compromised the military's own position and safety of coalition forces by DRAWING a map in the sand. Now there's a MENSA graduate for sure. Good God. Jerry Rivera, (who changed his name to be more 'hip')- went to the University of Arizona down in Tucson, but he made his marks by always being on the edge between controversy and fluff-n-stuff lightweight topics - not exactly military or security material. He is much better suited for Entertainment Tonight or HardCopy, not Walter Cronkite-league matters.

He also comes from a family that is Half Jewish,so his presence in the Middle East was of his choosing. He is quite passionate on matters of Human Rights and his care for our Troops and families is, I believe very sincere.

I'm glad to see him go, couldn't stand his talk show years ago, still can't stand the man. Maybe he and Arnett can hook up and continue their push into Baghdad, using their mouths as WMD!

I remember the story that got him in the limelight in the late '60s. It was a story about a home for the mentally retarded/emotionally disturbed called Willowbrook, and the horrid conditions the residents were living in. It broke on WABC, Eyewitness News in New York City and got national attention. That was probably his last/only good piece of journalism, but vaulted him into fame and fortune. I need a job like that. I can do 10 great things, and all it takes is ONE AW Sh!t to put me in the penalty box :o

I just saw a clip of General Myers with Rumsfeld at their briefing where someone asked Rumsfeld about the journalists and criticism regarding the perceived shift in tactics. He was about to answer when Myers jumped in and really wanted to make a point: he said that NO ONE can accurately 'armchair manage' a conflit, nor do they have all the required G2 intel to spew forth condemnations of curent battlefield tactics and operations. AMEN! The journalists and retired officers can spew informational sound-bytes but need to keep the whining down to a dull roar that can't be heard over the continual bombings.... And I see Captain Insaneo was a 'no show' today for his big address to Iraq this afternoon....hum...where oh where can he be.....
