Well here we are again. Last year we did this during Isabel....and now we have Bonnie which will landfall sometime this afternoon...and Charley which looks to be the stronger of the two when it hits the FL west coast sometime tomorrow. With that said, this is for those in the affected areas to post what is happpening in their area. This is just a source for those of us who aren't there to experience what is happening in these areas, and isn't meant to supercede official check-in, etc. Please pray for those involved that they may be safe. I hereby declare the Storm2k Member Info Center for Bonnie & Charley of 2004 open for business..and it will remain so until both of these storms are no longer an impact on the US.

I had a problem getting in here for over a month but finally got in and got the cookie saved to the program Cookie Jar, I have that saves the cookies to the sites I want to frequent. This Friday Aug 28 will be two weeks since Hurricane Charley hit FL. The area where I live in Polk county reiceived a glancing blow but southern Polk County received much more severe damage. I personally had some damage to a tree I had in my side yard. It was uprooted by a gust of wind that was in one of the rain bands. When it went down, it fell along side of the house , breaking the TV antenna in the fall. It did no other damage to the house though. I will miss the tree in the spring, when it was in full bloom it would look like a cloud had come down and sat on the tree. It will be easy to replace it though since all I have to do is find one the roots that are still in the ground that my husband cut to free up the stump, this tree sends up little branches where the roots were wounded.Or if I find one of the fruits it produced in the yard and plant the pit that is in side it. It is just a native plum tree but I had it for the blooms in the springtime, it always looked so pretty agaist the blue sky when it was blooming.
