LOL at Shawn. Looks like you nailed some good ones there. Laughed at looking at TV instead of watching TV!
We here in Cincinnati say - please - instead of pardon me, or could you repeat that? We just say one simple word, please. Doesn't quite work well when on vacation. The clerk will say please what? LOL
I was raised to call a green pepper a mango. Don't ask me where that got started in Cincinnati. But a green pepper looks nothing like a real mango!!!
I'll try to think up some more.

Oh yeah, I say green pepper down here (which is what they were in KY). But everyone else says bell pepper. Obvious -- since down here, they have so many darned spicy peppers and many of them are green!

I moved to Oklahoma from Minnesota, and I think the weirdest thing I've heard was that when you are getting your picture taken, they call it "getting your picture made."

Let me clarify -- saying "pack a bag" in some regions means to pick it up and carry it, NOT to put stuff in it. "Would you pack this to school for me?"
I was beginning to wonder about some of you who said "both" on that one.

Being a true southernern, I can relate to all the southernisms...but heres a new one for me because of my new region...
When you're going somewhere in Florida, you hop on 95. Meaning I-95, the interstate....in Cali, you're hoping on the 5 or on the 15....every freeway is called "the" whatever road it is....I've noticed that only here....

custard vs. soft serve ice cream
cabinet vs. milkshake
When I lived in NY state for 2 1/2 years the natives there called soft serve ice cream...custard...as in...want to go to the custard stand?...meaning dairy queen.
Lived in Rhode Island for a year after I was born in Indiana...anyway the natives there called a milkshake...a cabinet.
