Hey Duck...last night I checked out the TV fall lineup grid online...just because I was thinking the very same thing.
There are at least 50 large cities remaining to compete with CSI Miami, CSI New York, and CSI generic.
Looks like the handful of shows I watch on a regular basis are in about the same time slots...with most beginning in late September with new episodes, etc..
Other than that, I'm looking forward to fall. Ahhhh, the first overnight low in the 60's for weeks and weeks!

Well, Shawn I give you permission to dig away and reveal what you find out! Remember last season I didn't want to know how Friends was going to end. And I was glad I didn't go to any spoiler sites!!! But I am curious about Joey's new show. And half curious about ER. The one show I took on last year that I think is so funny, is Two and a Half Men. If you haven't tuned in yet to it, check it out. Good ensemble cast and clever writing. The one show I don't want to know spoilers about, since I already know how it will go every week is Everybody Loves Raymond - interfering in-laws, jealous newlywed brother, nagging wife, idiot husband. Bla bla bla on that show.
But for others, bring on the spoilers!!!

Brent - got hooked on Survivor last spring too! One word - Rupert!!!
Looking forward to that show starting up.
I'm gonna miss Friends though - but that's a given. I'll be shedding my tears I'm sure when Joey starts up. Call me crazy but not seeing "Mon's" apartment, as Joey would say, will make me sad. Now when he blurts out - "how you doin'?", then I'll be okay.

I've been watching Survivor since Season 4. WOW, feels like just yesterday. The only ones I didn't watch were Borneo, Australia, and Africa.

My husband and kids have watched Survivor from the very beginning. I'd watch Friends, taping it (for them to watch later), they'd watch Survivor until it was announced Friends would end last year. My oldest daughter knows Friends trivia better than I do and I watched Friends from day one! Anyway, I'd be tearing up watching last year (the last Thanksgiving special, etc.) and she'd say I can't watch Survivor, I need to watch Friends with you Mom, pass those tissues.....so little by little, she skipped the last two Survivors. Then when I got into it, she couldn't believe it. I made Jim/Laura tape Survivor so I could catch up. I was watching a bit too much TV last Spring....LOL I am glad I watched though - Rob/Amber/Rupert/Jenna....let's just say it was never boring! Certainly wasn't Friends but I got hooked anyway!

LOL
I never got into Friends. I don't know why, I tried to watch it numerous times and just couldn't get into it.

Brent - that's okay. Either you liked it or you didn't. Luckily for us, my husband and I tuned in for the first show. I liked it immediately (same with ER) and knew it would be a Top 10 show. Our girls were little then so we'd tape it at 8, put them to bed and watch later. 3 years ago my Nina, then 14, wanted to know what all the hype was about this show called Friends.....so I let her watch with me. She became an instant fan, watching reruns when she could. Now my husband rolls his eyes at us! She's 17 now, as I said, and is my Friends buddy. Jim continued to watch but if I hadn't still watched I think he would have stopped. Me? No way! I've watched every single first run Friends ep - diehard fan that I was. Last year as it would start up I'd be getting so sad. I'd say to Nina - what am I going to do on Thursday nights at 8 Nina? I've watched this show for 10 years? 10! Yeah I know I taped in the beginning but I was still so sad. Knowing my Thursday nights were changing (prior to that I had Cheers!). She just said - Mom, we're going to watch Joey, that's what we're going to do! That's a way to put a positive spin on things. I really hope his show takes off but I'm worried also. Spin-offs have notoriously failed thru the years.

Quack Duck, I've waited since May to see who lives and who dies on Third Watch. NBC really ended that season with an exciting storyline and a real cliffhanger. I haven't searched for what's going to happen but I figure at least one of two key characters are going to leave the show one way or another.

I saw the upcoming season trailer of ER.... You might want to watch it in person.... not taped! It seems up there with the one where romano got killed! It cliffhangs from last seasons driveby shooting. Oh my I can't wait! I'm a big fan of CSI: Miami... I'm usually not home to catch the original CSI: Vegas.

I'll be watching ER but not as excited about the show as I used to be. The ensemble cast has changed so much since it premiered. It almost feels like a class - some have graduated, moved on, others are still doing their time in the ER. Just like a real hospital setting I'm sure but from a fan's point of view, some elements of ER have been very disappointing - Carter's role for one. I was hoping by now he would risen to Mark Greene status almost. Not that anyone could take Mark Greene's place, but Carter could have come darn close, IMHO. Next I pinned my hopes on Luka. You would think his past - losing his wife and kids to war - would have made him a more caring doctor. Not a womanizer. I think I just expected ER to remain must-see-TV and it just hasn't lived up to that slogan in the past 4 or 5 years.

I stopped watching ER several years ago after the show where an adorable girl in labor spent a night in the ER (they couldn't get her into the maternity wing fir some contrived reason) and died in childbirth. I was so upset the next day I could hardly work....I had to keep reminding myself that it was only a show and the situation wasn't real. After that though, I said, wait a minute, I come to this hour for entertainment.....obviously I'm not being entertained. I've only watched a handful of ER episodes since then.
I like CSI Miami too, although the acting is a bit stiff and the storylines are almost ridiculous. Like the one where the girl got ejected from the jeep into the tree and the crime scene guys didn't find her for hours, I mean seriously, come on! But I stick with it anyway because it's fun. When they filmed an episode in last season Delray Beach, my son and his friends tried to get walk on parts. (It was the one with the Rapper.)
CSI New York looks cool too, I watch the original CSI sometimes, but the characters there have gotten a little hard to take.
Some of the new shows look interesting. I can tell from the promos that I'm going to hate some of the other new ones. Of course, they don't need to poll an audience. If BocaGirl likes a new show, that usually means that it will last less than one season.

Still my fave episode -- "Love's Labor Lost" with Colleen Flynn *sigh* as Jodi O'Brien and Bradley Whitford as her hubby.
It was a powerfully emotional episode.

I'm still not over it..........seriously. However, I'd hope in a **real** hospital, they would have found some way to get the poor girl up to the docs and services she needed. Although Doctor Greene meant well, he MURDERED that poor woman...Never mind, I told you I wasn't over it.........

I can guarantee you -- in a real hospital, it would go a lot smoother than that. Even if the patient didn't go UP to OB-GYN, the OB docs would come down to her.
