TV Shows we should be watching!

Each year TV critics write articles about new/newer shows that have lower ratings but should bring in much higher ratings. Example: American Dreams (ABC, Sunday nights). That's a show that almost didn't make it onto the 2004/05 schedule but it did. It got renewed (my daughter Nina loves this show).

Another show that premiered last year on Fox that I hear a lot about is Arrested Development. I've only caught one show. It's good, very-very different though. I may take this show on this year.

One show I discovered last season was Two and a Half Men. It's hilarious! It's on Monday nights, 9:30 after Raymond. I highly recommend this show. Check it out.

I also keep hearing about the OC and of course the CSI shows. So I thought I'd start a new topic, to tie in with Shawn's Fall Season Fever one, so fans of shows that are not famous yet, can post about. Why do you like this particular show? Should more people be watching it? Do you highly recommend it?

Feel free to discuss now.....thanx.

PS - I say all of this b/c I often miss out on great shows when they premiere. Perfect example? Cheers! Missed the first few seasons but I kept hearing how people raced home on Thursday nights b/c they couldn't miss their beloved Cheers...so in time, I tuned in. Wanted to see what the big deal was all about... Suffice to say, I became a huge fan but wished I had watched from the very beginning also.

Shamlessly going to bump up my own topic. Since I can't watch TV 24/7, I really want to know what shows others recommend! Can't watch them all but if I'm missing a great show, I also want to know about it. Not just from a TV critic's point of view mind you, but a real fan.

Some off-season faves --

Monk (USA) - funny, funny, funny...and a great detective series as well.

Amish In The City (UPN) - if it's possible to have an Amish fetish, but in a puritan kind of way, I've got one.

Clean Sweep (TLC) - Like "Trading Spaces," but it's two rooms, one family, and a lot of clutter!

Rescue Me (FX) - What "The Shield" is to NYPD, "Rescue Me" is to FDNY. Tough and gritty drama -- with PG-13 language, so not for kiddoes.
