Im not a real religious man but im going out on a limb here and I'm going to say ECFL is safe because I know that God and Mother nature can not and will not put the people of Central and WCFL thru what they just went thru..I have been to Polk county over this past week and it looks like Deja Vu Andrew all over again..I a storm tracked Thu FL in the same location we would have to need a our whole nation to help . Us here on the ECFL need to thank god for what we missed it is not fun and not a good place to be...I know that the EC is long over due but........Have Mercy...

I am a religious person, in some ways, however this is out of the hands of anyone. This is pure science here, and pure atmospheric conditions, if the atmopsheric conditions are right, then it will hit Florida and there is nothing that anyone would be able to do about it. Everything happens for a reason, and if the atmosphere wants it that way, then thats the way it will go.

I'm a theologian and I can not say what God will allow...or won't allow in this situation. One thing I can say for sure is that I would certainly never say God "cannot" do something.

God &/or the atmosphere can do what ever it wants.Just look @ how many typhoons hit places like Japan,China,Phillipines & Guam in a matter of months.Anything is possible on this blue marble we call Earth.Catastrophes have wiped out entire civilizations & entire species for that matter so 2 major hurricanes making landfall in the same state in the same season is nothing compared to what may await the human race someday.

Well stated.

Prayers do help! Don't let anyone tell you different. Remember when Lili was supposed to hit the Louisiana coast as a 4? Well, everyone got out there praying and praying. Lili did hit here, but only as a 1. Nobody could believe it. Even the forecasters were stunned that she weakened so much. I believe it was the power of prayers.

So, were people in Louisiana slacking off in prayer before Audrey?
Actually, sudden weakening before landfall of strong GOM storms is fairly common; people just forget about them, and remember the ones that don't weaken.
pray

I guess the folks in SW Fla didnt pray hard enough because that thing did the opposite of Lili.

Jim Cantore did that ! He prayed for Lili to weaken, and it did !

I would like to say that Air Force Met is right. What he left out was that no matter what happens around us, God sent His Son Jesus in order that we might live even when we die. I live with life and death as a part of my job. I can testify of the people, who even in death, had a smile on their face as they took the last breath. They had a future to look forward to. I don't believe this is the proper forum, usually, to talk about this. But someone brought God into the picture. Please don't blame God. As has been proving in life many times before, "the rain falls on the just as well as the unjust". It is our response to the "rain" that determines who we really are.

I can appreciate each person's view here but dont think that religion and weather events mix too well. It's like someone's ridiculous statement that Florida gets hit by hurricanes because Disney World has a gay appreciation day. good grief.

Guys.. lets try not to bring the religious aspect into this weather situation..
We just need to wait and see what the weather gods allow to happen

I prayed hard that Charlie wouldnt hit Tampa. It did not. Can you imagine how bad it would of been if Tampa took a direct hit.

I would say that this thread has been fairly good, no cuts on others beliefs yet. but, it probably isn't the best place for a religious discussion. Maybe a moderator could move it to Off Topic.
