FSU/UM football game scheduled for Monday, Sept. 6th has been rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 11th...

Game time expected to be NOON.

edit: this is per Canesport.com, so it may be incorrect... you know how those Hurricanes are... Warchant.com is reporting that this is not etched in stone..

Along those lines, Florida (gators) may cancel their came and reschedule too. I'm glad to see the school officials be very cautious with this.

I understand that the UF game WILL be moved to October 16.

wise choice by all 3 florida schools although the 9/11 (almost sounds strange) game may still be chaos depending on how frances impacts miami.

the OB is south enough to not see to much from the storm but the emergency services may be stretched thin helping broward and north.

I am very happy about this. The Labor Day/Monday Night thing was a bad idea, IMO, hurricane or no hurricane. It would have been awful - fans of both teams would have been sitting around the stadium all day getting plastered, just like the UM/UF game last year. I've been a die-hard Cane fan and season ticket holder since I was a little kid, but I was seriously considering not going to this game because of the yahoo element. Noon next Saturday will be much, much better.

All things considered, the postponement of the game is the right decision.

I think this bodes well for the Seminoles... Why, you ask? Well, I think attendance may be down due to the rescheduling of the game... instead of 65K completely drunk UM fans, they will only be moderately drunk at noon, so less rowdy... The heat could be a problem, but it wasn't back in '02 when the 'Noles almost pulled off the upset...

Oh yeah, a night game at the OB is horrifying to me as the stadium is electric... like da 'Noles chances better during the day.
