Formal Apology...

To all Storm2k members,

This is a formal apology for my actions a few nights ago regarding my poor and unacceptable behavior that I portrayed. For those of you unfamilliar of what happened, I will quickly summarize that night events.

I posted a message on the message board bashing NHC and their forecast because at that time I felt that they did not have it correct and I felt my forecast was more accurate and reliable. Not only did I post my own forecast, when people starting replying to my post, I replied back and kept on defending myself and became quite angry. Marshall (mf_dolphin) decided that I went too far with the NHC bashing and deleted my post. At that point, I did the dumbest thing possible. Instead of privately talking to Marshall aboout the situation and trying to reason in a smart and intelligent way, I went on and called Marshall a "moron" publicly as a new topic on the message board. As a result, I was banned from storm2k chat and the board.

Looking back on this now, I have realized I made a mistake and I didnt really mean to call Marshall what I did. I have great respect for him, and appreciate everything he has done since he has been with storm2k. I left my anger take control of me, and I take full responsibility for my actions. My behavior was not right, and not the typical person I really am in Storm2k.

I am lucky to have a second chance as Marshall has reinstitued my board and chat room rights. I am grateful to know a lot of people here at storm2k, a lot of which are my close friends as well. I thank you for all the support you have given me even through times where I have struggled in my life.

I hope everyone can accept my apology here and I do promise to react smarter and have a better behavior for now on. I hope our tropics talk in the future will be as fun and informative as it has been all this time.

Thanks,

Shawn Oberoi (Stormtrack03)

This apology is one of the best that I've ever seen. :)

Great job and I commend you for taking the time to write this out. It must have taken a lot of courage to do this. I wish you good luck from here on out. :)

I commend you for writing a public apology... that usually is the hardest thing to do.

Shawn,

We're ALL guilty at times of saying things we WISH we could take back, especially during times of severe weather......a "Pat on the back" is in order for your public apology! Yes indeed, Storm2K is by FAR one of the better websites on the net for up to date info on ANY kind of weather be it hurricanes, blizzards, heat waves!

Shawn - another reply from me on this topic. I'm so happy to see other members have accepted your apology too - makes me very proud to be a member of Storm2K. I'm a firm believer in honesty and straightening out a wrong, before it escalates. I've instilled this belief/moral with my daughters - if they forgot to do homework or a school project, tell the truth. Don't come up with a lame excuse, don't blame it on someone else. The truth is always the best route. If you've ticked off a friend, apologize. Don't assume they will know you're sorry. Did I always behave this way? Oh no....you learn it along the way. LOL

Your topic is honest and straight from the heart. That will get you everywhere here! I think you've found your new wx message board home!
