I don't mean to be nosey - if you think this thread is getting to personal - I'll delete it.

Don't feel bad Patricia...I started a thread up above that might get wilder than this one. I believe DJ thinks I'm losing it (could be

). It just began as something Becky mentioned during a phone call; then I spoke to her best friend from HS (Traci) to get her perspective because she was in army in a similar job after HS as Pfc Lynch.
I just sorta threw out a topic for discussion.....see where it leads.
As for my family... dysfunctional with a capitol "D"....I take care of granny because dad won't--or at least do it right (she's been too good to me to die in a nursing home in a town where she's never lived, among people she never knew).
Without her, I'd probably be dead by my own hand; so would little sister--by anorexia nervosa or the wrong guy in the wrong mood. I love my dad and his wife. Baby sis (Beth) is 18 now....she's as cute as Becky was at that age. Dad and me talk sports...we're more like old army buddies than father-son.
Becky and Dave live in Oregon....with my three little angels. I miss Becky and those kids so much it hurts--but granny was born in Georgia and intends to die here too. If she passes away before me, I'm planning to head northwest, be there for Maddie, Nick, and little Jake (if he's still little

..and write weather books and novels. Be another Steven King, except on the opposite coast. Lincoln City, Oregon looks "very, very good to me"

(an hour or so away from Becky in the southern PDX burbs...close, but not too close--the perfect setup for a great brother-sister relationship).
As for numero uno, I'm 41 and single...sounds simple enough. I waited for the right girl to come along...my princess...the lady of my life...my destiny. Now I'm too old to care if and when she finally ever shows up
I thought I'd found her in July 1995..while working with EDS in Jackson, Mississippi. Cute little redhead about 5'3"....lived in the same apartment community I did...good old "Sunchase" on Old Canton Road. She was a nurse at UMC (University of Mississippi Medical Center). We dated a few times, but it seemed the more we dated, the less we were attracted.
She was a good lady...we never had a cross word. We both just knew it wasn't our destiny.
There was one other wonderful lady I met while living in Ole Miss. Sweetheart of a little lady named Connie...she was also a redhead (and I've always said I preferred blondes

). Connie was an accounts manager at a hospital I met while assisting her with Medicaid billing questions. I made a trip up to NE Mississippi and fell head over heels in love. The books were a mess (I always did hate medicaid-medicare crossovers...a royal hassle

, but Connie was a living doll..a gentle little Mississippi lady with a wonderful southern accent that was so smooth I'd call her up just to hear her speak. Nothing made my day brighter than a call from Connie
Connie was a kind, compassionate, considerate sweetheart..friendliest lady I've ever met...she loved everyone and everyone loved her, including me. Only one problem...she was divorced and decided to remarry her husband for their kids sake

I thought it was a big mistake...but it was her decision. She cared more about her children than her own happiness; like I said, she was a kind, sweet southern lady with a heart of gold...44 carat--and I a chivalry believing southern gentleman also with a heart of gold...but unfortunately a broken one
Not too long after that I "hightailed" it back to Atlanta, and haven't looked too seriously for a girlfriend or wife since. I truly believe that Connie was my destiny, and it just wasn't meant to be
God Bless,
Perry
