AZSNOWMAN!

#1 Postby pawlee » Tue Apr 15, 2003 5:42 pm

LOL!!! PLEEEAASSSEEE don't take offense but for some odd reason, ever since you first came aboard TWC, i thought you were a kid around the age of 16 or 17! i don't really know why i envisioned you like this but i guess it's because you meshed well with the young people that i assumed you were in the same age group. upon visiting the gallery just now, my jaw hit the floor when i saw your pic so just want to say that now i guess it's good to have some clarification. LOL!!! thank god i never asked you the question "so how was school today?" p :o

below is my ugly mug...

*mod's: put it in the gallery if you wish but i am not responsible if it cracks anyone's monitor!*

Pawlee - you're certainly not alone in your misconceptions. Here's my goof:

Remember weather_sam from TWC boards and chat? Well, he always came off as so wise and knowledgeable about gardening, horticulture, etc. For some crazy reason I thought he was an older retired man - at least 65. Then I think he posted or mentioned in chat he was turning 20 or 21 soon. My eyes about popped out of my head too!!!! So I did joke with him a few times. Asking him if he was enjoying retirement, things like that.

I'm picturing your reaction though and it's pretty darn funny!

PS - speaking of Sam, we need to invite him to join us at Storm2K. Anyone have his email addy?

Oh gezzzzz Pawlee, I don't know if I should take that as a complament or NOT! "LOL!" Just kidding....thanks man! Ya know, that reminds me, I've NEVER, EVER been carded ONCE in my life for buying beer, NEVER, I've had pre mature grey hair since I was *16 YEARS OLD*, shot, I was buying beer and smokes when I was 17!

Ya know, I don't know why but little kids and teenagers have always been drawn to me, NOOOOO I'm NOT CHESTER "LOL!" Bets me, even the kids at church ALWAYS swarm around me, I don't know if it has something to do with the fact that I always have a pocket full of Double Bubble bubble gum! I can't tell you how many times at Christmas when I hear a little kid cry out to his/her mom/dad "Mommy look, it's SANTA!" Sheeeesh, maybe my LONG hair and beard and beer belly has something to do with it!

Joshua - that would be great! Thanks! I still have access over there so I might check his bio too.

Quick edit here - I just found his email addy in his bio. And now come to think of it I think I had it saved eons ago in collective emails some of us sent around. So I just emailed him. Let's hope he joins the fun too!

Mosconceptions.

Misconceptions?

You mean azsnowman isn't that young?

Over the years I think we tend to relate a person we've never met to someone else we know by the same name...even if it is the farthest from the truth!

That's particularly true for those who have less common names.

For example, I always picture a person named Brett (my nephew) in the context of my nephew. I know a few Jonathons who don't go by the name John, so I picture them in the context of those folks.

And ever since I went to college with a girl named Nancy Zahor...well, I can't get that word image out of my mind either...no matter how many Nancys I meet!

if you see this, just want to also say that back in the day when i first met you on TWC, i envisioned you as being a SW country kind of man with a thick beard, leathery neck and never without his cowboy hat. a good description would be Jack Palace in "City Slickers", gruff and rugged yet always modest and even keeled...

(at least i was right about the "rugged yet always modest and even keeled..." aspect!)

I figured JQ was about 18 or so on the TWC boards.
