There are some things mentioned here that to people in the know like myself are used to increased monitoring of areas of interest. This cements it that what occured when you combine this with the fact that it occured on a national holiday of tremendous importance to NK such as the founding of the country as communist. It was a test. I would stake my considerable analyst training on it.

I believe N. Korea has a history of doing "tests," on this official day. Nevertheless, in light of past controversies, this one is serious, and I fully expect a pretty harsh response, from, not only the United States, but, many countries throughout the world. This kind of stuff, today, isn't tolerated. Even the US and Russia aren't doing these types of tests today from my understanding--or if they are it is not done until many other countries have been notified that it would occur.
