Got some sad news this afternoon

Sitting here at the house this afternoon when I got the news, a very good friend has passed on :( Her name was Billie Valery, age 87 years old. Her and her husband of 70 years were the original members of my church. She was diagnosed with breast cancer, a tumor in her spine. She got up this morning, had her coffee, told her husband Glenn she was going back to bed and the Good Lord called her home. I'm afraid Glenn is going to go within weeks if not days, they NEVER spent ONE night apart in 70 years. Bill, Glenn is the one who was working on my application for the Masons :( I know she is in a FAR better place now, sitting with the Lord! God Bless you Billie, I'll miss you!

That is sad Dennis. And hard to come to terms with. You had no time to say goodbye. Her poor husband! They lived a long happy life together and Billie was called home in such a gentle way Dennis. Hold onto that. Hard I know but take some comfort she didn't linger in a hospice or nursing home, riddled with pain from the cancer.

:( I'm sorry to hear about your friend Dennis! At least she went peacefully. She was married to her husband 70 years huh? God Bless them both!

Dennis, this is sad news, indeed...I know that she's at peace, and in the presence of Him "to Whom all things are revealed, and from Whom nothing is hidden".

When, in the fullness of time, each of us leaves this rock, we will know how our "little thread" fitted into the Grand Design...how each of us influenced people we never met, things we had no idea of...and all within His plan, in His time.

Therefore, be at peace, as she is...and know that our loss is but temporary.

Thanks gang, Billie was a VERY special lady, as ornery as all get out. She had a very special place our hearts, she never spoke a bad word towards anyone. I just can't imagine being married for 70 years and NEVER spending ONE night apart! Glenn was the first conductor on the Apache Railway System in McNary Az, they use to haul logs out of the high country eons ago on rail cars, Glenn has some stories that are unbelievable, so did Billie.

Hello, Dennis. Since my father has had a prior brain tumor (caused by the then discovered lung cancer 2 years ago.). Of course, this strikes a spot in me as well, knowing that she was stricken with cancer and a tumor. I'm so sorry to hear about her passing and the loss of your friend.

Yes indeed, Glenn and Billie were a very special couple, like I've said, I can't even begin to imagine being with someone for 70 YEARS! They were still like a newlywed couple, always holding hands. Talked to Glenn last night for a few minutes, he said in the 70 years they were married that they NEVER had ONE fight, only one *small* arguement in all those years. God sure knew what he was doing when He brought them together didn't He?

My goodness Dennis... does everyone here know how incredibly rare that is for a couple to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary?!! I find that amazing.

Sorry about Billie Dennis.
