I'm rather generic. Grew up in Brooklyn, NY. After moving to VA as a teen, the NY accent disappeared within a couple years. Then lived in FL 9 years, NH for 16 years, now in IN. Traces of everything in my dialect. My muttness be known!

I definitely have the "Designing Women" accent.

Even though it's not a strong southern accent, I do have one. My accent comes out more when I'm either excited or mad

Heavy Worcester, Mass accent. Not to be confused with a Kennedy accent Uggggghhh! but unique just the same. We drop all unecessary R's as they take way tooo much time to annunciate! We however are quite proud to say that any word we use can be found in Webster's.

btw....Wuhstah is the correct pronunciation. Forget the r's and we drop that whole c in the middle on this one

I have a Southern Maryland Accent, which isn't quite as strong as a Southern Accent. I shunned it growing up, because I was taught that it was backward, but I let my guard down and it is coming out more and more. I can pick a person from my area out of a crowd of thousands, just by the sound of his or her voice.

I am from New Orleans but when I talk to people over the phone they ask me if I am from New York, alot. I say things like cawfee, dawg, caw, etc. Never noticed it till people brought it to my attention.

If you ever watch CNN there is a lady on who's name is Thumi. She is from SA and I sound just like her. The other guy on CNN is Anad Niadoo he too is South African and has the same flavor voice as me.

I fall more into the generic category. I can slip into either a Texas drawl or southern accent on occasion.

Although, I've lived in Wisconsin all my life, I can easily kick into another dialect. I really don't have to be on vacation either! It just happens!

Anyone ever been to South Philadelphia?? Well thats mine..I have the ole South Philly accent.

I'm not confused...there are times that I really don't know what part of the country I'm from. Yes, I do mean that...I can easily kick into a dialect from a different region of the US. Sometimes my friends will say "repeat that in a Wisconsin dialect". Because they are confused on what I meant. Anyways, it doesn't necessarily have to be a US dialect...I've been known to talk with an Australian accent just out of the blue. I guess it depends on what kind of mood I'm in....and how many people I want to annoy.

I was in Key West a couple of years back and we met some people down there and they asked where they were from. I had to prove that I was from Wisconsin...because I didn't have a 'Wisconsin' accent. I had a southern accent...and we were only down there for a day! Anyways...my driver's license proved that I was from Wisconsin, even though my dialect was from elsewhere.

Actually, I have no discernable accent, but I can parrot anyone's after a few minutes' listening...I got 'em all...

been there (Philly)...have cousins from there.(young ladies) ..they have a unique accent..and they do a lot of touching when they talk. Remind me of girls from South Boston.

Well - I grew up outside of Philadelphia, so I guess I have a Philly accent. Maybe this summer, I'll go down the shore.

"Down the Shore?" Yeah, I heard that. My wife is a philly subburbs native (bridgeport) and having lived there for about 10 years, I heard "down the shore" more times than I cared to. i never got used to saying that.

My southern accent sounds similar to both Bill Dance (fishing show host) and my uncle Bill. Both are from from northeast Tennessee (Knoxville/ Morristown/ Kingsport area).

Example:
"Tell ya mama to git herself tha house, it's gonna rain" OR "Okay hon, you be careful now, ya hear"?

Well...I have a little bit (not much) of a Southern accent. Occasionally friends say I sound a little British. Go figure!

Thanks Perry. I seldom missed his column. Maybe he rubbed off on me?

For instance, I said the blessing before we had lunch. I thanked the Lord for three things: fried chicken, potato salad and for the fact he had allowed me the privilege of being a Bulldog.

I still miss him.

Despite being a Charlestonian for all my life, I have no accent whatsoever of any kind ... just very neutral .
