I am just curious how you came about using the nickname you have here at Storm2k?
I will go first - ticka1 is my nickname in real life - my family has called me this for 40 years - seems my older brother and sister couldn't say Patricia and it came out ticka - its stuck with me all these years and its unique - so thats why I use it here at storm2k.
Patricia

Skywatch_NC - Watching the sky for those storms (I took the Skywatch part from my local news station Weather Center WRAL-TV 5 in Raleigh, NC) and the _NC part is obvious.

Amanzi=water in Zulu.
I love water, have to live near it. Water is the most precious thing in Africa, so I thought it would be a nice name for me. lol.

Over at Storm1998.com, or whatever year it was, I needed a nickname, and due to my 'wild' past (and yes it is the past) I picked a most appropriate name. Stormraiser.

by JetMaxx
I picked JetMaxx because of my interest in intense tornadoes and the atmospheric features that spawn them (i.e.- "mid level dry punch and associated jet max").
My email and chat name of "PerryXXL" should be obvious to anyone that sees my photo on the chat gallery...it's because I'm so tiny

I used to be called Pokey Joe growing up (for obvious reasons) and it shortened to pojo because my parents were lazy.

by Miss Mary
Way back when I just preferred my real first name in TWC chat room - Mary - and used just that. Then I tried joining TWC message boards and Mary was taken. It was a tossup between TLC's nickname for me - Miss Mary - or 2SeamFastball's - Hail Mary - so I chose Miss Mary.
And since most TWC friends have used their same handles Miss Mary stuck. I hardly want to be called Miss though, just plain ole Mary will do!

by WidreMann
Widre, from Old English gewidre (storm), although I thought at the time that the ge prefix was optional like it was for past participles (but it is in fact not optional). Mann = man in Old English. Put them together and you got WidreMann.

by ColdFront77
Everyone here knows what a "cold front" is, so that speaks for itself. The "77" represents the year I was born, 1977.
I have been interested in meteorology since I was about 10. Over the years I watched The Weather Channel and ('finally') in March 1999 I was able to get online everyday from my home.
I have enjoyed contacting people that are interested in meteorology online and with messageboard such as this one and figured "ColdFront77" would be a good enough member name. I used to have "ColdFront24" - but then that would become "ColdFront25" and in a couple months, "ColdFront26"... so I decided that "ColdFront77" would be the best choice.
