NEW YORK -- Want an old piece of "The House that Ruth Built"?
New York City's Parks Department is planning to sell 1,000 vintage Yankee Stadium seats for $1,000 each.
Finding buyers should be no problem. A spokeswoman for the department told the New York Post they're "apparently hot-ticket items."
The seats were removed when the stadium was renovated in the mid-1970s. They're currently stored in shipping containers at an agency warehouse.
Officials hope the seat sale helps the city narrow a nearly $4 billion budget deficit.
