Whats with the huge blue jackets on these reporters. They look like smurfs. Here is a huge green jacket big enough for the jolly green giant. The need a designer to create something chic since we are going into an active phase the next few years.

Probally GORETEX or even better FROGTOGS... very light weight and durable!

When wearing storm gear, one wants a material that is waterproof, yet allows the air to "breathe" through the material (if you recall those old rubber/canvas yellow coats, you need no other explanation).

Such parkas/bibs/trousers should have a generous looseness, which allows the wearer to move about freely, since most people will be wearing "street" clothes underneath.

And you're right; GORE-TEX is the best system so far, and comes in civilian and military spec models...but remember to add some reflective tape for visibility under extreme adverse conditions.

"Chic" doesn't make any sense if one wants to brave the elements.
