China shuts down major hospital

BEIJING, April 24 — China sealed off a major Beijing hospital Thursday, swiftly implementing a policy of quarantining SARS-affected areas to contain a disease threatening to erupt across the nation of 1.4 billion residents. In Hong Kong and Singapore, meanwhile, health experts said the disease may be even deadlier than initially thought

We have already had a case here and it was transmitted to a 6 yr old child. Both are quarantined for 10 days and are doing fine. Very scary scenario though...........

That thing is getting out of control over there. I certainly hope it'll settle down!

we almost had a SARS scare in our family. On of my aunt's relatives went to China and then came back sick...she was coughing...she was sick! She then went directly on a bus trip to DC and back...later that week, she went to her doctor and thankfully, it WAS NOT SARS.

That's good, Shannon, that would of been awful. Hopefully we will get to the bottom of this terrible syndrome.

Glad to hear your aunt was ok Shannon. The sooner they get this terrible sickness under control the better.
