I voted and answered Luis' poll question in the Hurricane Hollow Tropical Weather forum regarding how many tropical systems will form in the month of October and got me thinking what you do when voting in a poll (on this site)...

I vote based on my opinion alone.

Only two votes, but something tells me it really is a ridiculous thing to do. It isn't that I vote for the majority every single time.

Weighing others thoughts up to the point I see and/or feel like taking part in the poll may not make much of a difference.

I vote on how I feel about the subject.

To be honest, I like to take it solely on my opinion. For some reason I feel knowing what others feel before casting my vote.

Again, I do not vote with majority each and every time in the polls I take part in.

I'm secure enough in my choices, here and elsewhere in life, that I feel no need to "post" by consensus.

However, when I am trying to learn about a subject if I do not fell I know enough to make an educated vote I do at least read others thoughts. Of course sometimes I just don't vote.

I've been voting on things for my entire adult life...some easy, some difficult, but always if I am comfortable with my answer and can support my argument, I just vote my own conscience. Doesn't matter if we are talking about hurricanes or Presidents.
