Anything by Bruce Springsteen! Also, I listen to "softer rock" like DMB (as opposed to metal, rap, or most hip-hop), plus traditional jazz, classical, world, big band, folk, & a little bluegrass now and then. [Gee, that just about covers it all, rather than "the most...." ] :P

Christian pop/rock (Petra, Newsboys), 80's pop (top 40), any Billy Joel, any Olivia Newton-John, any Amy Grant, any Garth Brooks, most country (particularly silly novelty songs, patriotic tunes, and in-your-face stuff like Toby Keith and Martina McBride), novelty rap/hip-hop (just the fun catchy dance stuff), occasional heavy stuff (okay, Bon Jovi and Def Leppard is as heavy as it gets), very little but occasional southern rock (the right place, the right time, but almost never at home or in the car), and I'm a closet cello fan (classical music with a prominent cello sound like Lori Singer performing Berceuse on the "Short Cuts" soundtrack).

I enjoy most formats of music, but smooth jazz has to be my favorite (Pat Metheny, Norman Brown, Larry Carlton, etc).

Saying that, I'm currently listening to an oldie but goody pop cassette ("Candy-O" by the Cars :)

I prefer alternative rock also. We have an excellent alt rock station in the Cincinnati area:

Check it out sometime, they are online only.

I like just about all music but I mostly find myself listening to classical or soft rock. I love "island" music for a pick-me-up.

I like a wide variety, but the period of the late 70's thru the mid 80's was very fertile, starting with the punk/new wave revolution, through the big hair bands of the 80's. I also really like neo/retro psychedelic that came out in the 80's, plus the original 60's psychedelic. You still occasionally hear a song that has that influence. Also like rockabilly, garage, bluegrass, blues, southern rock, classic rock, grunge, plus a few contemporary hits (like smashmouth) are hard to resist. I believe that changes in music follow changes in politics. We're due for another revolution in music. Maybe I'm missing it already. Don't have a good college radio station here.

Ed - as I posted a few back, here's a good local station that began near a college campus. Now it's been relocated to the downtown Cincinnati area but it still has that college, non-top 40 feel, they often introduce fans/listeners to ~new~ music you'd never hear on a corporate radio channel:

They are available only on the web now but it's an excellent station, nonetheless. Attracting listeners from all over the country (their message boards attest to that).
