I'm just wondering why so much info on a volcano is ending up in a forum designed for discussions on tropical weather? Yeah, I know, I don't "have" to click the link......

No insensitivity intended - I can understand your concern. I hope this will not present you with any problems.

Oh... it will erupt one day. It's a certainty, but it's likely thousands of years away. An asteroid will probably kill the human race before it does.

No... the post was absurd. It's written by the same fanatics who think the end of the world is upon us.

Your missing the point. An eruption is NOT imminent. We'll all be long forgotten when it happens.

Absurd???It was a post about super volcanos..

It can happen...You may not want to hear it but it can happen.

Dont tell me youve never heard of a super volcano.

They should have at least put it in the off topic forum. There is way more idiotic junk over there than there was in that thread.

Well... in fact, it's the Hurricane Hollow Tropical Weather forum. I was getting at how volcanoes relate to tropical cyclones.

There was a Discovery Channel (or similar) program on super-volcanoes. After looking for the remains of a caldera in Yellowstone Park, some volcanologist came to realize most of Yellowstone WAS the caldera!

The earthquake north of Yellowstone that killed a number of campers back in the 60's, I think. I don't know if that was related to volcanic activity, but it definitely was a major event.

An eruption on a weather site is very appropriate, IMO. It is science and it certainly has an effect on weather events for several years depending on the significance of the eruption.
