HOW do I get rid of Windows Service Pack 2? It downloaded automatically this afternoon, and now we have a WHOLE lotta problems.

Bummer.. I have installed it like 50 times with no probs on new and old machines... Control Panel-> Add/REmove Programs..if you installed the updates individually you can see them all listed..

The entire Service Pack was downloaded at once...what I want to do is, not only rid us of this SP2, but restore the previous settings on all three desktops (XP Home) without losing critical systems.

We have multiple systems here and have not had any problems with SP2. In fact, there were a few problems we were having prior to the download of the Service Pack that were solved by the download. In addition, some security issues were resolved with it also. Before you get rid of SP2, check to make sure you don't have a conflict between software installed on your computer and windows.
What kind of problems are you having, and are you receiving any error codes?

SP2 should be listed seperately.. This should restore any settings changes related to the SP2 as well..However..this does open the door to security flaws and a do not suggest it. After you uninstall you can try a system restore as well...
Critical systems is a bit vague..SP2 itself is considered critical imho..
If you can post the errors and associated programs giving the problems I would be glad to help..Microsoft certainly does not intend to cause problems with the uprade so either there are some compatibilty problems or XP was corrupted before the service pack..

You can do a "System Restore" back to a time before the SP was installed. No need to uninstall the SP to do this.
